21-Yr-Old Bungee Jumper Died As She Was Thrown Without Safety Rope, Friend Says 'Wanted To Have Fun'

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, a 21-year-old bungee jumper, died after she was thrown without safety gear from the Skeleton Bridge of São Paulo, Brazil. The horror of it has scared many. While it was a clear lapse in safety, as the three instructors claim they do not remember checking her rope, and they experienced a blackout. Now, her friend, who accompanied her, revealed the horror of living with the shocking incident. 

The 21-year-old bungee jumper's friend revealed the horror of her death after falling from the bridge 

One could not even imagine that an adventure sport, which is done for fun, can turn into life-threatening simply because the company responsible for safety forgot to attach the safety rope. Now, the friend, who was with Maria on the fateful day when she died tragically, shared details of it and a heartbreaking tribute. 

For the unversed, Maria lost her life after three men, said to be the bungee jumping instructor, held her in a superman pose and threw her off the bridge. They have been charged with homicide, while they claimed that they do not remember attaching Maria's rope. The friend, who was with Maria, revealed that she was a sweetheart and a dreamer. He stated that they just wanted to have fun that, but it ended up in a tragedy. He said:

"Duda was a sweetheart. A perfect woman, a dreamer, polite, with a huge heart. And all we wanted was to have fun that day, and then this tragedy happened."

The young man, who chose to remain anonymous, paid tribute to Maria with a social media post. He shared that he still cannot believe that she is no more. He thinks it is a nightmare, and he will wake up. He called Maria the most amazing person he had ever met, and he loves her. Further, he added that he does not think he can handle the pain and he knows nothing can bring her back, but he prays to God that they would see each other again. He wrote:

"The young man also paid tribute to Maria in a heartbreaking social media post, writing: “I still can’t believe it, Dudinha. I think it’s a nightmare, and I’m going to wake up. You’re the most amazing person I’ve ever met. I love you, girl. I don’t know if I can handle all this. I know nothing will bring you back, but I pray to God that we’ll see each other again. I love you, Dudinha, I’ll never forget you."

The witness who saw Maria being thrown from the bridge without a safety rope called it an unusual day

Another witness who had jumped from the bridge that day shared his experience. He called it an unusual day and claimed that there were a lot of delays, which might be due to the rain. And due to the weather, a lot of people were waiting to jump. On the other hand, the nurse who ran for Maria's rescue revealed that Maria was breathing heavily, but her pupils had dilated. She wasn't conscious due to the scary fall, which took her life.

While the world is left horrified at the negligence of the Bungee jump staff's end, the mother of the Brazilian woman cannot believe she is no more due to a fatal mistake. She is in rage due to what happened and how it took her daughter's life. She damned the rope that became the reason for her death at just 21.
