They first crossed paths on the set of David Fincher's cult-favorite thriller Seven. In a recent interview, Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about her past relationship with Brad Pitt.
Gwyneth Paltrow shares that she and Brad Pitt fell in love at first sight
Recently, Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast and recalled her first meeting with her ex-boyfriend, Brad Pitt. She revealed that she and Brad fell in love at first sight and everything clicked immediately after their first meeting. At the time, she was 22, and the Mr. & Mrs. Smith actor was 31. Gwyneth stated that Brad became her first major public relationship right as her own career was taking off. She said:
"It was pretty awesome."

Further, in the podcast, Gwyneth shared that suddenly she was getting famous for her movies while also being known as Brad Pitt's girlfriend. She admitted that the sudden attention was kind of overwhelming. She then confirmed their engagement, which was eventually called off. Revealing the reason behind calling off their engagement, Gwyneth said that back then she was much younger and they were constantly working in different parts of the world.

The ex-couple, Gwyneth and Brad, met on the set of Seven and began dating in 1994. In a 1997 interview with Rolling Stone, Brad reflected on his first impression of the actress. He shared that he immediately understood that he liked her. He added that whenever he got closer to Gwyneth, he became nervous and awkward. Later, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Gwyneth shared that she didn’t understand that Brad liked her. However, eventually she had a crush on him. She said:
"I wouldn't know if somebody was flirting with me. When Brad and I met, he said it was obvious that he liked me and that I was an idiot. But I had no idea. I thought he was just really friendly. And then I started getting a crush on him. I'm like, 'Are you insane? You can't get a crush on Brad Pitt. Get a hold of yourself.' It's funny to think back on that now. Now it's so different."

In April 1995, the duo traveled to London for a party after the UK premiere of Brad's movie Legends of the Fall. This appearance was one of their first major public appearances together as a couple. In May 1995, Brad defended Gwyneth against Harvey Weinstein. At the time, Gwyneth was starring in Harvey Weinstein's movie Emma and was dating Brad Pitt. While Harvey made a pass at her in a hotel room, Gwyneth felt very uncomfortable and shaken.
The actress immediately told this to her then-boyfriend, Brad Pitt. He was extremely angry and later confronted Harvey Weinstein at the opening of Hamlet on Broadway. The couple had been very supportive of each other. During his acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in 12 Monkeys in 1996, Brad thanked Gwyneth and said, "especially the love o' my life and my angel, Gwyneth Paltrow."
In a 1996 interview with the LA Times, Gwyneth opened up about her relationship with Brad. The actress shared that she was in a happy relationship. She mentioned that they went on dates and watched movies together. Sometimes, friends came over, and they enjoyed dinner together.
