Ashish Vidyarthi And His Second Wife, Rupali Barua Severely Injured In A Road Accident In Guwahati

Veteran actor, Ashish Vidyarthi is a National Award winner, who is well known for his powerful performances in films. Most recently, he was seen in Karan Johar's reality show, The Traitors. For the unversed, the actor is currently married to Rupali Barua, who is an entrepreneur and fashion expert. Recently, the two were injured in a road accident in Guwahati.

According to a report by Firstpost, Ashish Vidyarthi and his second wife, Rupali Barua were in Guwahati, where the unfortunate accident took place. Reportedly, the accident took place on November 2, 2026, in front of the The Guwahati Address Hotel. Reportedly, the couple was crossing the road after having dinner. Soon, a speeding motorcycle came from the Chandmari side and hit them. 

Since, the bike was at a high speed, both Ashish and his wife got severely injured. According to the eyewitnesses, the biker also got injured. Reportedly, the actor and his wife were soon rushed to the nearby hospital and the locals informed the police about the same. It is worth mentioning that exact details about Ashish and Rupali’s injuries have not been disclosed yet. However, a police investigation has reportedly begun.

For those who do not know, Ashish Vidyarthi was previously married to Piloo Vidyarthi. Reportedly, the two were married for 22 years and they have a son together. However, Piloo and Ashish gradually grew apart. They felt their ways of living life were different and because of the same, the two parted ways. They mutually filed for divorce and they continue to co-parent their child. 

After the divorce, Ashish Vidyarthi found love again in Rupali Barua. Reportedly, the two while working on a project. For the unversed, Rupali is a fashion entrepreneur from Assam. After knowing each other for a while, the duo fell in love and they decided to get married in an intimate and private wedding ceremony. According to reports, they had a registry marriage in Kolkata.

When Piloo Vidyarthi opened up about Ashish and Rupali’s wedding

Later in 2023, Ashish's first wife, Piloo Vidyarthi had a candid conversation with Hindustan Times, during which she opened up about the actor's second marriage. During the interview, she explained her bond with her ex-husband and spoke about Rupali. She was quoted as saying:

"For Rupali, I would again say it’s a rare thing to find someone. People are passing comments because they cannot accept generosity. I am quite a transparent person. My fans, followers and people who know me, are aware that I am the same person inside and out. I have not been tortured. Ashish met Rupali after our decision. He is not a bad person. He is a good guy. Can’t we expect a little kindness from people?"
