Bonnie Tyler was 22 years old when she fell in love with Robert Sullivan. The two met at a club, where Robert was a manager. Bonnie and Robert's stood as a pillar of strength for each other. The singer's husband never stopped her from living her dream of singing and performing, and their love was still strong till the end days of Bonnie's life.
She kept admiring her husband and always asserted that they were as strong as the day they said 'I do', and sealed the deal with a kiss. Bonnie lived a beautiful, content life with a marvellous singing career. But not many know that Bonnie also came to the verge of being a mother, but it was stripped away as God had other plans.
Bonnie once revealed that she thought of starting a family at the age of 39. She shared that she got lucky instantly when she stopped taking the precaution. At 39, Bonnie was all ready to embrace motherhood, but she was stripped of the happiness as she had a miscarriage. Talking about her miscarriage, Bonnie said:
"I had a miscarriage when I was 39, and that was that. When we married, we said, ‘We’ll give it seven years before starting a family.’ But four years on, the success came, so it was, ‘next year we’ll start’ then, ‘next year’ but there was always some reason to put it off. Then the time was finally right, so we stopped all precautions – and I was amazed how quickly I caught."
Bonnie suffered a miscarriage at two-and-a-half months. They tried again to embrace parenthood, but it never happened. She called it awful knowing, but knowing that she got pregnant once was a comforting thought. She stated:
"When we saw the blue line on the test, I couldn’t believe it. But it didn’t last very long. I was two-and-a-half months gone when I lost the baby. We tried again, but it didn’t happen. I’d left it too long. It was awful, obviously, but now, in a strange way, just knowing that I was pregnant once is a comfort to me."
Bonnie stated that she never had maternal feelings until she suffered the loss of an unborn child. And after that, she just cannot let a pram go past her without having a look at the baby. She developed the maternal feeling way later. However, Bonnie admitted that she was a great-aunt, and they just loved her.
Bonnie revealed that the miscarriage was the most horrible time of her life. And to get past it, she threw herself into work. She even found comfort in her nephew, who is her elder brother's son, who lived with her and Robert at that time.

Bonnie Tyler passed away at the age of 75 in a hospital on July 8, 2026. The singer was extremely unwell after she had emergency intestinal surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma in May 2026. Fans of the singer are in disbelief after hearing about her sudden passing. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Robert Sullivan.
Bonnie Tyler was a great singer, and she will remain alive in the hearts of her fans.
