Arjun Kapoor has etched his name in Bollywood as one of the most promising actors of his generation. Son of filmmaker, Boney Kapoor, it was in 2012 that he was launched under the tutelage and guidance of Salman Khan. Thereafter, Arjun ended up making a smashing debut with the film, Ishaqzaade. Fast forward to now, Arjun has climbed the ladder of success and is an established star. Unfortunately, his equation with Salman Khan has now evolved after so many years, and if reports are to be trusted, the two of them are cold to one another. Interestingly, one of the key reasons that is speculated to be behind the duo’s fallout is Arjun’s relationship with Malaika Arora, who was previously married to Salman’s brother, Arbaaz Khan.
In a recent interaction with News18 Showsha, Boney Kapoor reflected on the major help he got from Salman Khan, as the latter was the first one to make him aware of his son, Arjun Kapoor’s developed interest and skill in acting. He mentioned that Salman convinced him that Arjun had the potential to become a successful actor, and even took it upon himself to train his son. Boney mentioned:
“I may have separated from Mona but it was never in my mind that Arjun wants to become an actor. It was Salman who called me up and said that, ‘Boney sir, he will become an actor. He has it in him.’ He took it upon himself to see that he becomes an actor. He made his lose weight. I would give credit to Salman where Arjun is concerned. ”

Moving forward in the interaction, Boney Kapoor delved onto the topic of his son, Arjun Kapoor’s fallout with Salman Khan. Agreeing on the same, the filmmaker revealed that although the two of them have a strained equation now, but Salman gave his everything to launch Arjun, and that the former was the main reason behind the latter’s career growth. In his words:
“Whatever said and done, today their equation might not be that good but he gave him his best (with regard to) Arjun. His growth was influenced by Salman.”
In the concluding segment of the interaction, Boney Kapoor divulged if he too, now has a complex relationship with Salman Khan, due to his son, Arjun Kapoor’s changed equation with the superstar. To this, the filmmaker remarked that he and Salman have a lot of love for one another, and whenever they meet, there is tons of mutual respect that they reflect for each other. He shared:
“Their fall out has not altered my equation with Salman. I still love him, I still feel that there are very few like him, big hearted, warm hearted, whenever we meet, we meet with love. There is a lot of respect that he gives me and I love him.”

Back in March 2024, an unseen inside glimpse from Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar, Gujarat had surfaced on the internet. It featured a rather startling moment between Salman Khan and Arjun Kapoor. Well, in the clip, Salman could be seen interacting with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ranveer Singh inside the bash. However, he seemed to royally ignore Arjun Kapoor, who too was standing beside him. On the other hand, the latter too, out of a sense of awkwardness, didn’t step forward and speak with Salman, and rather chose to stay a bit away and chat with MS Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni.
