Boney Kapoor has been quite upfront and bold in revealing unheard anecdotes about his personal life. Be it about his two marriages or the vivid dynamics between his four children, the filmmaker has time and again made candid confessions. For the unversed, Boney got married to Mona Shourie in 1983, and the duo got blessed with a son, Arjun and a daughter, Anshula. However, things got complicated after the duo separated in 1996 and Boney got married to actress, Sridevi the same year. Later on, Boney and Sridevi welcomed two daughters, Khushi and Janhvi into their lives.
In a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Boney Kapoor recollected the past and spoke of the tough time his son, Arjun Kapoor faced, when the former got separated from his ex-wife and the latter’s mother, Mona Shourie. The doting father remembered that his son had to face the brunt of his parents’ divorce in school. Additionally, Boney revealed how Arjun was pushed to further shock after his mother, Mona passed away in 2012. Crediting his son’s ability to remain strong even in the hardest of times, Boney stated:
“I was separated with Mona, so he had to face the brunt in his school. Then his mother passed away which was a major loss. He has absorbed it all and still has the strength to remain strong and hold himself which is a great quality.”

Moving forward in the conversation, Boney Kapoor talked about the slight lull in his son’s career at the moment and emphasised how he is sure that Arjun will bounce back from it. Furthermore, he remarked how it is his son who is the strongest person in their family, who has never lost his balance even in the most tough trials of life. In his words:
“Arjun is also very sure of himself, waiting for the right opportunity. He knows that he has made some wrong choices but the time will come. The fact is that he has not lost his balance despite some setbacks, speaks a lot of his character. I feel he is the strongest in the family, although where life is concerned, where career is concerned, he has been through some kind of turmoil.”
Earlier, while speaking with News18 Showsha, Boney Kapoor revealed how it was Salman Khan’s who learnt about his son, Arjun Kapoor’s knack for acting. The filmmaker mentioned how it never crossed his mind that his son wanted to be an actor. Moreover, Boney credited Salman Khan for taking Arjun under his wings and training him properly about the craft.

In the same interview, Boney Kapoor shed light on his children’s dating life and relationships. For the unversed, all four of his children seemed to have found love in their lives. While Arjun is in a relationship with Malaika Arora, so is Janhvi with Shikhar Pahariya. Moreover, while Anshula Kapoor is dating screenwriter, Rohan Thakkar, on the other hand, Khushi Kapoor is said to be in a relationship with Vedang Raina. Shedding his views on his children’s personal lives, Boney had said:
“It’s their personal life. I can talk to them just once or twice and share my opinion. But the thing is that children, today, mature much faster as compared to our generation. You can’t push them into toeing the line or thinking in the way you do. They’ve their own minds. The world has shrunk today, which wasn’t the case in our times. We took our own time to understand how the world functions. It’s easier for them to form their own opinions.”
