Happy marriages and abrupt divorces are the most common attributes in the world of Bollywood. Every now and then, while the fans spot a budding relationship between two celebrities, they are equally shocked when they learn of their sudden decision to call it quits. However, what stuns the fans even more when after divorce, when either or both of the ex-partners decide to move on in life and settle down with somebody else.
Speaking about re-marriages, one cannot miss out on the fact that B-Town has seen so many half-siblings forming as a result of the same. Well then, let us take a look at some of the most popular half-siblings in Tinseltown!
Bollywood’s dashing hero, Arjun Kapoor is very close and protective of his sister, Anshula Kapoor. For the unversed, the duo are children of filmmaker, Boney Kapoor and his first-wife, Mona Shourie. However, they were left behind in the care of their ailing mommy, Mona, when Boney decided to leave them and elope with Sridevi. Thereafter, Boney and Sridevi were blessed with their two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
Well, this situation makes Janhvi and Khushi the half-sisters of Arjun and Anshula. Interestingly, initially Arjun and Anshula were not very cordial to their step-sisters. But post Sridevi’s shocking death in 2018, they came forward to support Janhvi and Khushi and carried out their responsibilities. Fast forward to now, things seem to be well-settled between these four-star kids.
Shahid Kapoor has been one such actor who has faced the realistic trials of a marriage from none other than his parents, Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem’s multiple marriages. After his divorce from Neelima, Shahid’s father, Pankaj went on to marry Supriya Pathak and had two kids of their own, Sanah Kapur and Ruhaan Kapur. On the other hand, Neelima, too moved on and married Rajesh Khattar, with whom she was blessed with a son, Ishaan Khattar.
However, Shahid has always maintained an amicable bonding with all three of his half-siblings. While Shahid and Ishaan have literally grown up together and are exceptionally well-bonded, Shahid is also warm towards Sanah and Ruhaan.
Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt are the daughters of eminent filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt and his second wife, Soni Razdan. But this sister duo also have a pair of half- siblings in Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt. Well, they are the children of Mahesh and his first wife, Kiran Bhatt. For the unversed, Mahesh and Kiran were divorced after the former’s extra-marital affair with Parveen Babi. Thereafter, he married Soni Razdan.
Coming to these star-kids, Alia and Shaheen share a very warm and close bond with Pooja and Rahul. There is absolutely no weird feeling or animosity between them. In fact, Alia and Pooja have also worked together in the reprise movie of the latter’s debut, Sadak 2.
Dharmendra was an already married man along with a full family of four kids when he eloped and married Hema Malini in 1980. For the unversed, Dharmendra and his first wife, Parkash Kaur was a happy couple with their sons, Sunny and Bobby as well their daughters, Vijeeta and Ajeeta. Sadly, he fell in love with his Dream Girl co-star, Hema and the duo eloped, changed religion in order to get married. They were later blessed with two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
While Sunny and Bobby are seldom spotted making public appearances with their half-siblings, Esha and Ahana, nonetheless they are reportedly very close to one another. There is no animosity between them and in fact, both the brothers are equally protective of all four of their sisters.
Aamir Khan and his first wife, Reena Dutta were a case of teenage love which unfortunately succumbed to a divorce in 2002. While the decision was amicable, they decided to raise their kids, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan in joint custody. Thereafter, Aamir married Kiran Rao in 2005 and the duo was blessed with a son, Azaad. Aamir has always ensured that he showers equal love and warmth on all three of his children.
And speaking of Ira and Junaid’s bonding with Azaan, it is simply adorable. He is their baby brother, with a gap of almost 15 years. With no negative vibes between them, the duo are also known to be exceptionally close to Aamir’s second ex-wife, Kiran Rao.
Sanjay Dutt has had quite a tumultuous personal life, spanning across multiple marriages. Sanjay at his teenage married model Richa Sharma and they were blessed with a daughter, Trishala. Sadly, after Richa’s unfortunate death due to a brain tumour, Trishala was taken away by her grandparents to the U.S. where they raised her. On the other hand, Sanjay moved on in his life and married Manyata Dutt in 2008. Sanja became a father again with the arrival of the couple’s twins, Saharan and Iqra in 2010.
Surely, Trishala has a huge age gap with her half-siblings, who are almost baby to her. The trio are known to share a great bonding. In fact, forgetting any kind of animosity, Trishala is exceptionally close to her step-mom, Manyata Dutt.
Dashing yesteryear actor, Kabir Bedi is known to have quite a controversial love life spanning across multiple marriages in his different ages. He was first married to model and classical dancer, Protima Bedi in 1969. They had two children, Pooja and Siddharth. Unfortunately, the latter passed away at an early age when he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and committed suicide as a result of it. After Kabir’s divorce from Protima, he married again to fashion designer, Susan Humphreys and they were blessed with a son, Adam.
While Pooja and Adam both stepped into the glamour world, they are known to share a great bond with one another. For the unversed, Pooja is an actor by profession, whereas her brother, Adam is an eminent international model.
While many of you will be surprised to take these two names as half-brothers, well it is absolutely true. For the unversed, Ramanand Sagar’s father married Vidhu’s mother after his first wife passed away. Interestingly, while the duo ended up to becoming pioneer filmmakers in the Hindi film industry, they were also known to have kept a warm bond with one another.
Veteran actor, Raj Babbar was first married to Nadira Babbar in 1975. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Juhi Babbar and a son, Arya Babbar. However, amidst this happy family, Raj got involved in an extra-marital relationship with actress, Smita Patil and the duo eloped and married. They were later blessed with a son, Prateik, post whose birth, Smita passed away due to childbirth complications. Saif Ali Khan’s once happy love story with Amrita Singh ended in an ugly divorce battle. Nonetheless, it did not stop Saif from sharing equal responsibility of his children, Sara and Ibrahim. Years later, when he remarried and tied the knot with Kareena Kapoor Khan, he was again blessed with two kids, Taimur and Jehangir. Interestingly, Saif has shouldered the responsibility of all four of his kids equally and there is no partiality on his part.
Also, when it comes to Sara and Ibrahim, they are perhaps the coolest pair of elder half-siblings for Taimur and Jeh. Not only do they spend time with their baby brothers, they also love to shower PDA on one another. Moreover, Sara and Ibrahim are pretty close to Saif’s second-wife, Kareena Kapoor.
