Bollywood actor, Bobby Deol is again making the headlines for his recently released web series, Ashram 3. The actor, who is a proud son of veteran superstar, Dharmendra and his first wife, Prakash Kaur, has rubbished the reports of his father being hospitalised in Mumbai. For the unversed, it all had started when the Sholay actor was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital in April 2022, due to his critical health condition. And needless to say, the yesteryear’s favourite star, Dharmendra had received immense love and concern from across the nation.
Talking about his personal life, Dharmendra and the ‘dream girl’ of Bollywood, Hema Malini had secretly converted to Islam to marry each other. The actor had tied the knot with Hema in 1980 without divorcing his first wife, Prakash Kaur. He has two adorable sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and two daughters, Ajeita Deol and Vijeta Deol from his first wife. And he has two beautiful daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol from his second wife. The four half brothers and sisters share a warm bond with each other, and Hema had also been the most loving stepmother to Bobby and Sunny.
In a recent interview with India Today, the doting son, Bobby Deol refuted the rumours of his dad, Dharmendra being hospitalised in Mumbai. He confirmed that his dad is in good health and ‘recovering’. The Love Hostel actor showed his gratitude towards fans and well-wishers for showing concern ever since Dharmendra’s hospitalisation news had surfaced online. He stated:
"He is absolutely fine. He is at home and he is recovering. He is doing well. Thank you so much for your love and affection."
On May 1, 2022, the Yamla Pagla Deewana actor, Dharmendra had taken to his IG handle and had dropped a funny video of him mentioning how he had suffered a muscle pull at the back. The loving actor had also warned his fans from doing something in excess as it might not be good for their health. In his words:
"Friends, don't do anything over. I did it and suffered a big muscle pull at the back. So I had to go to the hospital for two-four days. It was difficult. Anyway, I'm back with your good wishes, his blessings. So don't worry. Now I'll be very careful. Love you all."
Earlier, in an interview with the Film Companion, Bobby Deol had shared an anecdote and had mentioned how his father, Dharmendra used to say that he would not work after turning 70 years old, but is working till his 80s. The proud son had revealed that his daddy has been his biggest inspiration and the only reason he had not given up on life. Bobby could be quoted as saying:
“The other day, he was telling me, ‘Beta, main sochta tha ki 70 ki age tak main kaam karunga. Shayad uske baad kaam nahi mile, ya kaam nahi kar paunga. Aur aaj main 86 ka ho gaya hoon aur phir bhi kaam kar raha hoon. It was the most awesome feeling I got when he said that to me, and that’s exactly what inspires me. I want to work till the last breath I take, because that’s what we are, we’re actors, we want to keep working. He was there in my family, the biggest inspiration, and I didn’t even see him when I had given up in life."
Here’s wishing a speedy recovery to Dharmendra.
