A man, previously accused of stalking singer Billie Eilish and arrested in 2020, has died after being hit by a train in Long Island, Westbury, New York. The news of his death was first reported by the New York Post. The man, 30, was identified as Prenell Rousseau, a resident of Farmingville, who was alleged to have frequented Billie Eilish's family home in Los Angeles.
On March 26, 2026, Rousseau was reportedly in the middle of a jog "on or near" the railway tracks when he was struck by a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train in Westbury, New York, in what authorities have described as an apparent accident. Officials say the incident occurred in the early hours, around 5:38 a.m. local time, and there was no foul play involved. The collision reportedly disrupted travel for roughly a hundred passengers, who had to transfer to another train.

Prenell Rousseau's name made headlines in 2020 after he repeatedly showed up at Billie Eilish's family home in Los Angeles when she was only 18 years old, and he was 24. The repeated visits in May of that year raised serious concerns for the Blue Eyes singer and her family's safety. The court granted a three-year restraining order against Rousseau that ordered him to stay at least 100 yards away from them.

According to court documents, Rousseau appeared at the property seven times over just two days, displaying what the singer described as "erratic behaviour." This was during the COVID-19 days, and Rousseau had allegedly frequented the property without wearing a mask and even held door handles without gloves. During his first visit, he reportedly rang the doorbell and asked the singer's father if she lived there. Despite being told that he had the wrong address, he allegedly returned multiple times, hanging around the property for hours.

In one particularly unsettling moment, Rousseau allegedly sat on the family’s porch reading a book while continuing to speak to himself, refusing to leave despite repeated requests. Security was eventually called, and he was arrested for trespassing. The singer said in the court documents:

"While we waited for security, Mr. Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down, and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue. My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused."
Rousseau's social media also showed disturbing behaviour, including posts referencing Eilish and what appeared to be illustrated images of the singer, along with messages expressing affection. One of the messages read:
“Anyway — I love u b … that is all.”

Prenell Rousseau’s death has now brought renewed attention to the stalking case. This isn't, however, the only time that the singer feared for her safety because of excessively obsessed fans. In 2023, a 53-year-old man named Shawn Christopher McIntyre was accused of sending the singer hundreds of disturbing messages and professing love for her. He also allegedly sent threatening messages towards her brother, Finneas, ultimately leading the siblings to secure a restraining order against him.
In another incident, 39-year-old Christopher Anderson reportedly broke into Billie Eilish's L.A. residence. Though no one was home at that time, the intruder allegedly searched through the property and checked personal belongings. When the police arrived, he was arrested on burglary charges. In 2021, the Grammy winner spoke about fearing for her safety because of repeated stalking incidents, saying:
"I really don't like to be alone. I have a lot of stalkers, and I have people that want to do bad things to me, and I also am freaked out by the dark and, like, what's under beds and couches."
