'Bigg Boss 7' Fame, Aijaz Khan Shares Traumatic Experiences About His 26 Months Jail Sentence

Aijaz Khan opened up about his painful experience of serving his 26-months-long jail sentence and shared his traumatic life.

Aijaz Khan rose to fame with his hyperactive stint in the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 7. Subsequently, he was also a part of quite a few daily soaps like Kahaani Humare Mahabharat Ki, Karam Apnaa Apnaa, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Ek Nayi Chhoti Si Zindagi among others. He also went on to take part in a few films, which chalked out mediocre successes. In 2021, Aijaz got arrested by NCB under a drug case and was imprisoned for a jail sentence. Finally, he got released on June 19, 2023, on a bail after 26 months.

Aijaz Khan shares his painful experience during his jail sentence

In an interview with ETimes, Aijaz Khan opened up about serving his two-and-a-half-year long jail sentence. He mentioned that these years were extremely difficult for him, and mentioned that despite telling the truth, he was separated from his family. Adding how his family was rendered completely unwell during this time, he mentioned:

“The two years were very difficult for me. I told the truth and due to this, my own people separated themselves from me. 26 months I stayed without my family, my father was extremely unwell. I thank God that he kept me alive for my family and fought with those circumstances.”

Unhygienic washrooms and uncooked food, Aijaz shares horrifying details of his jail term

Going further in the interview, Aijaz spoke about the various hardships and tough living situations he had to endure in jail. He revealed sharing the same cell with uncouth gangsters and robbers. He also recalled living in pathetic hygienic conditions and being served with food that was eaten by rats and insects. Moreover, he also revealed that he read a lot of books during those times to keep himself mentally alive. In his words:

“There was just three toilets for 400 inmates and those toilets would always be filled. I read a lot of books inside, I learned a lot there. I stayed with jail inmates and gangsters. I used to eat dry rotis with stone cold rice. I would eat the dal with rats and insects. I had to sleep in the floor with those insects. I realized the price of each grain and vegetable. Today if someone would give me the bare minimum, then I would eat it with the same joy.”

Aijaz extends gratitude to Mika Singh and Randeep Hooda for taking care of his family in his absence

Moving further, Aijaz extended his heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to ace singer, Mika Singh and Bollywood actor, Randeep Hooda for taking care of his family during his absence. He revealed that they kept calling his family, and was always up to the mark to help them any moment that they needed any assistance.

Aijaz Khan requests for work in the film industry

In the concluding segment of the interview, Aijaz humbly requested with folded arms in public, asking people from the industry to be compassionate and offer him work hereafter. He mentioned that he has a family to look after, and assures he would stay under the law and keep himself out of trouble.
