In the last quarter of the year 2018, Tahira announced with all her followers, the news of her breast cancer. With her treatment going on in full swing, we were hoping that Tahira will soon announce the good news with us that she is now cured of cancer, only to our dismay when we got to know that the star wife-cum-director’s cancer has advanced to a level 1! But health isn’t posing as an hindrance for Tahira as only a while back, she posted an inspiring message for her followers, wherein, she is seen showing off her beautifully scarred bare-back.
Taking to Instagram, Tahira’s message about cancer and herself could be read as, “Today is my day! Wish you all a happy #worldcancerday and hope each one of us celebrates this day in an embracing way. That we remove any stigma or taboo associated with it. That we spread awareness about it and that we have self love no matter what. I truly embrace all my scars as they are my badges of honour. There is nothing known as perfect. Happiness lies in truly accepting yourself. This was a tough one for me. But this picture was my decision as I want to celebrate not the disease but the spirit with which I endured.”
The note concluded with, “To quote my mentor, Diasaku Ikeda, “Leading an undefeated life is eternal victory. Not being defeated, never giving up, is actually a greater victory than winning, not being defeated means having the courage to rise to the challenge. However many times we’re knocked down, the important thing is we keep getting up and taking one step-even a half step- forward” #worldcancerday #breastcancerawareness #breastcancerwarrior #turningkarmaintomission #boddhisatva Thanks @atulkasbekar for this one.”
And now, the super-supportive hubby, that Ayushmann Khurrana is, shared the same picture from his Instagram profile and wrote a beautiful message for his wifey. The same could be read as, “Paa le tu aisi Fateh. Samandar teri pyaas se darey. ———————————— These lines are for you @tahirakashyap. Your scars are beautiful. You are a trailblazer. Keep inspiring the millions who get depressed when they get to know about cancer. Be the lifer you are! #worldcancerday.” (Must Read: Sonali Bendre, On World Cancer Day, Shares She Laughed Through Chemo Sessions To Deal With Cancer)
What a wonderful hubby Ayushmann is, isn’t it? Not just this, remember when, during Karva Chauth 2018, when Tahira couldn’t fast for her hubby and he did it on her behalf? Sharing an Instagram story of his henna-adorned ‘T’ (for Tahira), written on his palm, the Andhadhun star wrote, “She can’t fast this time. But I will. For her good health and long life. #karvachauth” atop the picture. Here’s the image:
And ever since, the internet was flooded with shares of the same containing a “I want a similar man in my life” and “I wish I had someone like Ayushmann Khurrana in my life” as captions. While we were sure that Tahira must have been spellbound with her hubby’s gesture, Ayushmann had then shared with BollywoodLife about how his wife felt upon learning about him fasting. He had stated, “Tahira was touched by it. In fact, she told me not to fast, but I told her I will. Last year, we both observed the fast. But this year, she could not as she is undergoing chemotherapy sessions."
Ayushmann, who is on a professional high these days, spoke about dealing with his wife, Tahira’s illness. In an earlier interview with Mid-Day, the Pani Da star stated, “She was diagnosed on my birthday [September 14]”. Post which, they decided to deal with the Big C in the most unique way. Ayushmann further stated, “We had to maintain a happy life state to deal with it. In fact, after we got to know about her condition, we went to see Manmarziyaan that evening. We told ourselves, ‘Okay, we’ve been diagnosed. We can’t go home and cry about it. It’s better to go for a film.’ So, we watched the film, came back and got the date for her operation.”
Did you know? The doting hubby had spent several sleepless nights when his wife was undergoing a treatment and operation at the hospital. Sharing a picture of his wifey, Ayushmann thanked everyone for the wishes. He wrote, “Thanks for your wishes & support. Last 7 days have been tough but we have decided to have a happy life state & fight this challenge. I’m proud of my warrior princess.” (Also Checkout!
