A recent report from ETimes has claimed that Avinash Sachdev was in a six-month-long relationship with Shafaq Naaz. A source close to the actor revealed that Avinash and Shafaq fell head-over-the-heels in love with each other during the shoot of the Television series, Teri Meri Love Stories. For the uninformed, Shafaq used to play the role of 'Pari', and Avinash played the role of 'Ishan' in the series. However, the source told ETimes that during the shoot of the title song, the duo fell in love with each other. The source also claimed that Avinash Sachdev then backed out of his six-month-long relationship with Shafaq Naaz.

Talking about Avinash Sachdev's bonding with Falaq Naaz, the source claimed that what makes it weird is that the actor was already in a relationship with Falaq's sister. The source also enquired if Falaq is aware of Avinash's past with her sister, Shafaq. The source also shared that everyone is waiting for the Naaz family's reaction if Avinash and Falaq end up falling in love with each other in BB OTT 2 house. The source could be quoted as saying:
"Avinash and Shafaq fell in love during the shoot of Teri Meri Love Stories. The two were paired opposite each other in the episode titled Songs. They fell in love. However, Avinash backed out eventually. Their relationship must have lasted around six months. What makes his bonding with Falaq awkward is that he was earlier dating her sister Shafaq. We are wondering whether Falaq is aware of his past with Shafaq, but Avinash knows it all. Let’s see how the Naaz family reacts to their equation if they end up falling in love inside the house.”
On July 8, 2023, a video from Bigg Boss OTT 2 featured Avinash Sachdev confessing his feelings to his co-contestant, Falaq Naaz. The actor revealed that he likes Falaq, and this feeling started in the second week of the show, which has now blossomed into something deeper. Hearing Avinash's confession, Falaq could be seen blushing. Later Avinash Sachdev shared the same with Jad Hadid and Jiya Shankar and revealed that Falaq didn't say yes or no to the confession and told him that her priority and focus are somewhere else now.

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Falaq Naaz's mom, Kehekshan shared how she feels about Falaq and Avinash's bonding. Kehekshan shared that she thinks Avinash to be trustworthy whom her daughter can trust. She also stated that, from her point of view, Avinash is really loyal to his co-contestant, Jiya Shankar. Falaq's mom stated:
"I think Avinash is trustworthy and Falaq can trust him. I watch the show live and I’ve seen how he has patiently been with Jiya and apologised when he went wrong. Otherwise, I don’t know him personally and neither Falaq has ever worked with him. So the friendship Falaq has made inside the show is for real and for the first time she’s meeting them. Avinash, as far as I’ve seen, has been very loyal towards Jiya."
