Suniel Shetty's daughter, Athiya Shetty is happily married to Indian cricketer, KL Rahul. After dating for a few years, they got hitched on January 23, 2023, in an intimate ceremony at her father's Khandala farmhouse. Ever since the madly-in-love duo made their relationship official, they stood with each other at their lowest and highest times. Recently, a video was widely circulated from the IPL match ground, wherein the Sanjiv Goenka was seen having an outburst on KL Rahul, and days after that, Athiya shared a cryptic note.
Recently, Athiya Shetty took to her Instagram handle, and shared a picture of a serene view. The picture featured a cloudy sky from which a ray of sunshine is seen, along with a calm sea reflecting back the light. Altogether, the picture seemed to be very peaceful and sharing it, she penned a caption which again hinted at the controversy involving her husband, KL Rahul, and the owner of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team, Sanjeev Goenka. Athiya wrote atop it:
"The calm after the storm."

Sanjiv Goenka, the chairman of the conglomerate RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, on May 8, 2024, got into a heated argument with KL Rahul after Lucknow Super Giants faced a defeat against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Afterwards, a video capturing an intense face-to-face conversation between the LSG captain and the owner went viral. In the video, the businessman was seen seemingly shouting at the cricketer, and it soon went viral on social media. Sanjiv also got immensely criticised by the netizens for his stance with KL Rahul.

Coming to Athiya and KL Rahul's relationship, just like any other couple, since their wedding, they are also often being asked about their family planning. A few months back, when Suniel Shetty graced the dance reality show, Dance Deewane alongside Madhuri Dixit, as a judge, he made a shocking revelation regarding his daughter's pregnancy. During one of the segments of an episode, Suniel talked about the possibility of becoming a grandfather. He stated that in the next season, he will enter the stage as ‘nana’ (grandfather). This caused a stir in the media as an indirect announcement about Athiya’s pregnancy. In Suniel’s words:
“Yes next season when I come I will be walking on the stage like a Nana.”

Soon after Suniel made such a comment, speculations about Athiya's pregnancy started circulating on social media. However, debunking all such speculations, Athiya attended an event of TODS on April 5, 2024. For this event, she wore a chic beige-hued cropped vest coat layered with a rolled-up shirt and dark-washed mid-rise jeans. Athiya completed her look with neutral glam makeup, minimal accessories, and black loafers. In a video from the same, Athiya was seen jumping around with her brother, Ahan Shetty while posing for the shutterbugs.
