Suniel Shetty's daughter, Athiya Shetty and her cricketer husband, KL Rahul have been enjoying their marital bliss to the fullest. For the unversed, after four years of dating, KL Rahul got married to Athiya Shetty on January 23, 2023, in a South Indian wedding ceremony. The duo has been married for a year now, and it looks like they are ready to hop onto their parenthood journey for the first time in their lives.
Suniel Shetty is currently one of the judges on the dance reality show, Dance Deewane, along with Madhuri Dixit. Recently, the show had a grandparent's special episode, which was hosted by Bharti Singh. During the episode, Bharti told Suniel how he has to behave when he becomes a nana, as no kid can handle such a cool grandparent. To which, Suniel said:
“Yes next season when I come I will be walking on the stage like a Nana.”

Suniel Shetty's statement grabbed a lot of attention, and people started wondering if his daughter, Athiya Shetty, is pregnant. There is no denying that KL Rahul and Athiya are a very private couple, and they would prefer to keep their good news under wraps. Moreover, Athiya has not been doing films for some time, and her public appearances have also been limited. All these factors further add more fuel to the speculation of Athiya's pregnancy.

For her wedding, Athiya Shetty ditched the traditional red lehenga and opted for a pink-hued lehenga designed by Anamika Khanna. The bride donned a chikankari lehenga on her D-Day and looked elegant. Pairing her lehenga with a full-sleeved blouse, Athiya complemented her look with heavy jewellery, which included a stone-encrusted neckpiece, matching earrings, and a maang teeka. Opting for a dewy makeup look, she tied her hair in a bun. KL Rahul, on the other hand, looked dapper in a lightly embroidered sherwani from the shelves of designer, Anamika Khanna. He completed his look with a stole and multi-layered emerald neckpiece.

In one of the pictures from the duo's wedding, Suniel Shetty along with his wife, Mana Shetty, and KL Rahul's parents, Dr KN Lokesh and Rajeshwari Lokesh, were seen blessing the couple. The priceless photo showed Athiya Shetty and her then-groom, KL Rahul, sitting in their wedding mandap while smiling and looking fondly at each other. The couple's doting parents were seen standing behind them and showering flower petals on them.
Earlier, in an interview with the ETimes, Suniel Shetty opened up about his son-in-law, KL Rahul and said that his daughter, Athiya is blessed to have a husband like him. Calling himself a proud father, the actor mentioned that Athiya would learn a lot from Rahul. Praising KL Rahul's calm, respectful, and composed behaviour, the veteran actor stated:
"But then when he rises like a phoenix you feel this is something to be inspired from and this is what the team’s tough boys are. I am a proud father. Blessed is Athiya and blessed is Ahaan because he gets to learn about from him. He is calm, composed, very respectful. I don’t think I could have asked for a better son."
