It was on April 23, 2019, when Arjun Rampal and his girlfriend, Gabriella Demetriades had announced that they are expecting their first child together. Just a few months before announcing the ‘good news’, Arjun had separated with his first wife, Mehr Jesia as they were facing some troubles in their marital life. Ending their 20-years of a beautiful journey, Arjun and Mehr had released a joint statement to the media, which we will share in the later paragraphs. First things first, after being a father of two, Arjun Rampal embraced parenthood again with his South African model-actor girlfriend, Gabriella Demetriades. Confirming their relationship and announcing the pregnancy in the same post, Arjun and Gabriella had posted a black-and-white picture, cuddling each other with love and warmth. While Arjun had written, "Blessed to have you and start all over again... thank you baby for this baby", Gabriella had captioned it as, "Grateful for you two can’t wait to meet you".
Finally, on July 18, 2019, Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades became proud parents to a baby boy. JP Dutta's daughter, Nidhi Dutta made the announcement on Twitter with a picture with the elated father. In a congratulatory post for the newbie parents, she tweeted, "Congratulations @rampalarjun on the arrival of your bundle of joy! God bless!" On July 17, 2019, Gabriella was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital and Arjun along with daughters, Mahikaa and Myra paid a visit to the then-soon-to-be mommy.
In a throwback interview, Arjun Rampal had revealed how he had met his ladylove, Gabriella Demetriades for the first time. Arjun had said, “Ah, that’s a question to ask. We met through common friends. So, what can I say? That she stalked me? Wishful thinking that, buddy! It’s only been a year since we started dating and here we are. For keeps. And I must add that it was of prime importance that my daughters should accept her as part of the family. When Arjun Rampal had announced the news of his girlfriend, Gabriella Demetriades' pregnancy, tonnes of congratulatory messages from fans and his friends from the industry started pouring in, which made us wonder if his estranged wife, Mehr Jesia and his two beautiful teenage daughters, Mahikaa and Myra knew about the same. As per a Mumbai Mirror report, Mehr has taken the news of her ex-hubby, Arjun embracing fatherhood again in a positive stride. The report had stated, “The couple did their best to keep the pregnancy under wraps for the last six months. It turns out that several of their friends were kept in the dark too, including Mehr Jesia, Rampal’s wife of 20 years and mum to their two daughters, Mahikaa, 17, and Myra, 13.”
The report further stated, “Mehr has in fact taken the news rather sportingly. Her friends say that even though they haven’t filed for divorce yet, Mehr has come to terms with the fact that Rampal has moved on personally.” A friend close to Mehr has shared with the same tabloid, “They are still working out the financial terms of the separation. Mehr is a wonderful mother and wants to do what works best for her children.”
Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jesia had released a joint statement announcing their mutual separation. As per the Bombay Times reports, the statement of their disunion could be read as, “After a 20-year-long beautiful journey filled with love and beautiful memories, we would like to share, that all journeys have different paths. We feel that it is time for us to move on to different destinations henceforth.”
It further stated, “We have always been solid when it has come to us, we will continue to be solid for each other and our loved ones, as we embark upon a new journey...Both of us being extremely private people feel strange to be making this statement, but such are the circumstances of our lives. Where the truth can get distorted and lost. We are a family, our love for each other is forever intact and we shall always be there for one another and most importantly, for our children Mahikaa and Myra. We would therefore appreciate our privacy through this time. Thank all for their support. Relationships can end, but love lives on.
