Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez kept their relationship away from the prying eyes of the public and the media. The duo started dating in 2020 and got engaged in December of the same year. Ariana and Dalton said ‘I do’ in a private ceremony in Montecito in May 2021. The 30-year-old singer quite often took to Instagram to share adorable moments of the couple.
But destiny had other plans, and while Ariana was away from Dalton because of the shoot of her upcoming film, Wicked, their hearts grew apart. A source close to the estranged couple shed light on the situation and mentioned to the media outlet, People, that Dalton's career has been an issue for the duo. The source said:
"She was happy in Los Angeles for a couple of years. She wanted to make a life there with Dalton. He is super focused on his career and needs to live in Los Angeles. It's definitely been an issue for them. Dalton's career is demanding, and he can't leave Los Angeles often. So when [Grande] started filming Wicked in England, they were in for a long-distance marriage."

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez have officially filed for divorce on September 18, 2023. As per reports, Ariana first filed her divorce petition, and consequently, Dalton filed a response immediately. The reports of an impending divorce between Ariana and Dalton surfaced in the media in July 2023.
Eventually, the Thank U, Next singer was also spotted without her wedding ring at the Wimbledon 2023 men's final in July 2023. This further fuelled the rumours that the estranged couple, Ariana and Dalton, have parted ways. Per several reports, the duo was living separately since January 2023. A source close to the ex-couple mentions to the People that Ariana and Dalton do not have any bad blood between them. It’s just that the relationship between the duo did not work out as it should have.

Ethan Slater is a famous actor and singer mostly recognised for playing the lead role of 'SpongeBob SquarePants' in the musical of the same name. Even Ethan and his wife, Lilly Jay, filed for divorce in July, which coincided with rumours of Ariana's separation from Dalton. Ethan and Lilly also welcomed a baby boy in 2022.

As per an exclusive report by Daily Mail, the Wicked co-stars, Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater, are said to be living together in New York City. They first crossed paths in December 2022 while filming for their upcoming film in the UK. According to People, Ariana and Ethan were initially just friends until they ended their relationships with their respective spouses. However, conflicting reports from the Daily Mail suggest otherwise. A source informed the news outlet that Ariana and Ethan never intended to attract attention to their relationship. The source said:
“Ariana and Ethan never intended for their relationship to go public. They were hoping to keep it a secret and go back to their marriages as if nothing had happened. But this was not possible because they got caught. Now they are stuck together and have really nothing in common with each other. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.”
In the same Dailymail report, multiple sources claimed to have witnessed Ariana and Ethan being 'sloppy' both on and off set. They said:
“They were seen being all over each other while he was still supposedly happily married to Lilly. They were seen making out at a pub in Hampstead, and they were all over each other at Michelle Yeoh's Oscar party.”
