In a nail-biting match yesterday on June 09, 2019, India defeated Australia by 36 runs as the latter was unable to chase down a mammoth target of 353. We all gloried in our victory while bleeding blue and The Oval was full of jubilant Indians. However, amidst the thousands of cheerful supporters, there were a few who didn’t like the presence of Australian cricketer, Steve Smith on the grounds, and thanks to the Indian captain, Virat Kohli, who came out in support of the 30-year-old Aussie batsman. What happened was that during the first innings when India was batting, a group from the spectators started shouting ‘cheater’ looking at Steve Smith who was guarding the field standing at the boundary, not very far from the audience. Steve Smith, as cricketer fans know, was pronounced with a one-year-ban last year due to his infamous ball tampering controversy. And guess what? While Virat Kohli was batting, he asked the fans to stop calling Steve Smith a ‘cheater’, and instead requested them to clap for him! Now, that’s called sportsman spirit!
That's what Indian's are known for!
With India fans giving Steve Smith a tough time fielding in the deep, @imVkohli suggested they applaud the Australian instead.

Virat Kohli’s gesture was not only appreciated by his million fans but also by his wife, Anushka Sharma. Anushka took to her Instagram stories to share a screenshot of a news article on the same, and wrote atop it, “Aggressive player, benevolent man - so easy to love,” followed by a heart-emoji. Well, seems like the wifey was proud of her hubby’s gesture, and just like us, she fell for Virat once again! Take a look at Anushka Sharma praising Virat Kohli for his gesture:
Virat Kohli also commented on the same during a post-match press conference. He was quoted as saying, “I feel for him. Look, we have had a few incidents in the past, we have had our arguments, but now he is coming back. I noticed this in the IPL too that he was keen to play and there were some incidents. It happened today too (fans booing) and I felt bad for him. I went and apologised to him on behalf of the crowd.” He had further added, “If I was in a position where something had happened with me, and I’d apologised and accepted it, and came back and still I would get booed, I wouldn’t like it either.”

Anushka Sharma’s Instagram story praising Virat Kohli’s gesture has also been met with appreciation from their fans. Virushka (as fans call these two fondly) is definitely the ‘IT’ couple of India. Time and again, they have appreciated and spoken the most heartfelt words for each other. Virat Kohli had once shared they he will never forget the first time Anushka Sharma had come down to watch a cricket match when he was playing. He had recalled in an interview, “During the Mohali incident, they had spoken to me already. When I hung up the phone and told her, for me it was like a flashback..From the moment I started playing in my academy till the Mohali game. I was emotional, I was in tears because I had never thought that I will see this day. What was more beautiful was that, I was able to share it with Anushka. It was something that I will always remember.” (Must Read: Suhana Khan's Latest Dance Video Is A Trendsetter, She Gives Best Dancers A Run For Their Money)

You start understanding things better (after marriage) and start putting things into perspective a lot more. From that point of view, I have become more responsible and that helps you in captaincy as well. It has only improved my captaincy as a human being and player outside."
Anushka Sharma has also remained candid about Virat Kohli and their married life during media interactions. In an interview, she had retorted, “Both of us really love doing what we do professionally. We don't take our professions too seriously. We don't draw our identity only from that. We are very simple and like doing normal things. For the world, it is about our professions. But in reality, it is as normal as anyone would be in a relationship.”
Anushka Sharma, in another interview, how they aren’t able to spend time with each other at their home. The Sui Dhaaga actress had said, “Marriage doesn’t feel different. Virat and I have been working around the clock, we hardly spend time together, we both have very hectic lives. So, we are living in a house and we have spent barely any time in it.
