Born as Anwar Sardar Malik, Anu Malik is an Indian music composer and singer. He had begun his career as a music director with the film, Hunterwali in 1977 with the stage name, Annu Malik. He had earned recognition for his music in the 1990 film, Awaargi, which features the famous ghazal, Chamakte Chand Ko Toota Hua sung by Ghulam Ali. Anu has given some hit songs to the Indian music industry, which included Tumse Mil Ke Dil Ka Hai Jo Haal, Baazigar O Baazigar, and many more.
Anu Malik is married to his loving wife, Anjali Vasudev Bhat, who is popularly known as Anju. The couple is blessed with two daughters, Anmol Malik and Ada Malik. The family of four is often spotted at airports while going for vacations and on parties and functions. However, did you know that Anju had pretended not to know her husband when they went out in public?

Musician, Anu Malik appeared on the sets of the singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa as a special guest on the judges' panel. One of the contestants on the show, Ananya Chakraborty’s hairstyle reminded Anu of an incident from his life. The musician revealed that because of his hairstyle, his wife, Anju had to pretend that she didn't know him when they had gone out for dinner. He said:
“I still remember there was this incident where my wife and I were going out for dinner, and I told her I am going to wear my cowboy hat and leather boots with those braids on. After we left, she decided to walk 20 steps ahead of me pretending she doesn’t even know me."

Further, Anu talked about how he used to have a similar hairstyle in the 90s and added that he used to complete his look with a cowboy hat. Talking about the same, he said:
"But I was very happy and confident with my outfit and had so much fun wearing it. I have been watching Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and the day I saw Ananya, I reminded my wife about the time I used to keep the same braids. Now she just laughs about those moments.”
Once in an interview with the Hindustan Times' HT Brunch, Anu Malik had talked about his wife, Anju Anu Malik, and had shared that the first song he had written for her. Recalling an interesting incident from his life, Anu had shared:
“My wife Anju and I got married when I was 22 and she was 21. This was after a long and emotional courtship in Mithibai College. I used to follow Anju, and one day, she complained to the college principal. I was so scared that I ran away to Khandala! It was raining and I composed the song Dekho Baarish Ho Rahi Hai for my lady."
On the work front, Anu Malik composed the song, Barsaat Ki Dhun in 2021.
