Annu Kapoor is a truly multi-talented gem, and has showcased his charisma not just as an actor, but also as a filmmaker, RJ, singer and even a television host. He has spent almost four decades in the showbiz world, during which he has bagged two prestigious National Film Awards, one Filmfare Award along with two ITA Awards. Some of his impeccable works include films like Vicky Donor, Betaab, Utsav, Mr India and others, as well as shows like Antakshari-The National Challenge, The Golden Era With Annu Kapoor and others.
In February 2023, Annu Kapoor had suffered a massive heart attack. Thankfully, with timely medical attention, he was able to recover and recuperate well, and has been able to hit back to his work commitments soon after. And now, speaking about the same in an interview with the Hindustan Times, he mentioned that he has been working continuously under the scorching heat without any shades. Moreover, he emphasised that nothing can hamper his performance, once he is sure about his commitment towards the work at hand. In his words:
“When I am shooting then it’s my duty to give my best irrespective of everything. We shot in scorching heat in kabristan in Malihabad without any shades. That’s my commitment that nothing can affect my performance. As far as health is concerned, I am taking precautions and am on a strict food regime.”

In the same interview, Annu Kapoor spoke about his successful acting career till now. He mentioned that his well-acclaimed performances are only because of his previously attained, rich and diverse experiences that he had in his four decades of career. Calling it a hard-earned journey, Annu mentioned:
“Ghaat ghaat ka pani pe kar aap unki boondein jama karte hain and when required you can bring them out. Mere paas bhasha hai, abhivyakti hai aur vichaar hai and that’s what I add to my performances. Bahut kathin tapasya ki hai! I have seen people constantly doing one kind of acting and still they have earned crores while the audience and media have made them mahaan superstars.”
In one of his previous interviews with the Hindustan Times, Annu Kapoor had shared his frustration with facing the film industry’s harsh reality of struggles to find a decent opportunity, despite being a veteran member of it for almost four decades. He mentioned that he needs to find some work in order to put food on the table for his family. Moreover, he also took a dig at his contemporaries like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, who gets easy work due to their good looks and not because of their talents.

Speaking about his personal life, Annu Kapoor’s journey in marriage has been nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. For the unversed, he got married for the first time to Anupama Patel in 1992. But, soon after, they parted ways and got divorced in 1993. Thereafter, Annu tied the knot with Bengali actress, Arunita Mukherjee in 1995, and they were blessed with a daughter. Interestingly, at that time, Annu again started connecting with his first wife, Anupama and the duo fell in love once again. On learning this, Annu’s then-wife, Arunita decided to separate from him, and got divorced in 2005. Finally, Annu re-married Anupama in 2008 and was blessed with three sons.
