Ankita Lokhande and her husband, Vicky Jain have been hitting the headlines for their stint inside Bigg Boss 17. Moreover, their ugly dispute on national television has been creating a never-ending drama inside the house. However, amid all this, Ankita in the show often talks about her ex-boyfriend and late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, with her co-contestants. For the unversed, the duo met each other on the sets of their serial, Pavitra Rishta and eventually fell in love. But in 2016, they parted ways and gave a huge shock to their entire fan base. Just before entering the house, Ankita talked about her breakup with Sushant Singh Rajput.
Right before entering Bigg Boss 17, Ankita Lokhande sat for an interview with BBC News Hindi, where she talked about her breakup with late Sushant Singh Rajput. Recalling that phase, the actress revealed that despite being separated, she waited for more than 2 years for Sushant Singh Rajput. Ankita mentioned that after waiting for so long, it was finally on January 31, when she finally decided to move on in her life.

Ankita mentioned that her house was filled with her and Sushant's pictures. And when she decided to move on, she asked her mother to remove all the pictures. Elaborating more about it, Ankita mentioned that it was necessary because the past has to go for someone else to make space in life. In her words:
"For two and a half years, I kept hoping that things will be okay. But one day, it was on the 31st of January...There were so many photos of the two of us in my house. And that day, I decided and told my mother that remove all the photos. I said that's how it is supposed to be, you have to make space for someone else to come into your life."
Further, in the same interview, Ankita mentioned that she cried a lot on the day when her mother removed all the photos and tore them. The actress added that she tried everything to fix her relationship, but nothing worked. Elaborating more on it, Ankita added that the 31st of January was the end of her chapter with Sushant, and after six months, Vicky entered her life. In her words:
"I told my mother that until he is there, no one else will be able to come in. I didn't remove the photos, I just told my mother. I just went inside my room, my mother removed the photos, tore them up. I cried that day. That was the end of everything. I waited, I did everything and after 6 months, Vicky came into my life."

Earlier, in an interview with Naved, Ankita opened up about her breakup with Sushant Singh Rajput and mentioned it was not easy for her to move on from the past. Adding that it was a long duration of togetherness that she had with Sushant, the actress mentioned that she couldn’t come out from the trauma of her breakup. Elaborating more about it, Ankita said:
"It was very difficult for me to move on post the break up as it was a very long relationship. It happens when one moves on and the other cannot. It took me almost two and half years to overcome that pain. I took my time and I couldn’t move on as I couldn’t imagine dating anyone else. I don’t remember what it was like as it was so painful and shocking. I never stopped believing in love and I manifested it. The moment I came out Vicky entered my life."
