After brewing up the much-loved chemistry through their acting stint on-screen, Ankit Gupta and Priyanka Chaudhary made headlines when people couldn’t stop noticing their similar bond off-screen, especially since the duo appeared on the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 16. While many of their fans wanted them to confess their relationship on national television, they were disappointed due to their evident lack of commitment to one another in the Bigg Boss house.
Ankit Gupta recently got evicted from Bigg Boss 16, making his fans quite disheartened. And now, the actor has finally spoken up about his relationship with Priyanka Chahar and revealed his reason for not giving it a proper tag. In his words:
“I don’t want to give a tag or label to this relationship with Priyanka because we don’t want the same things from this bond. Main tab naam Doon jab do log same cheez chahe… Priyanka is a very emotional person and she’s a family oriented girl. She wants a family in life when she gets into a relationship and on the other hand I am very independent and someone who doesn’t believe in marriage as a concept. When I don’t believe in something and I know what will be our future then why would I forcefully get into a relationship and ruin the special bond and friendship that we have right now.”

While Ankita Gupta's fans wished that the actor would make a commitment to Priyanka Chahar anytime soon, things did not span out similarly. And all of this happened because Ankit lacked belief in the institution of marriage itself. Mentioning it, Ankit said:
"I actually don’t trust people easily and I do not believe in the institution of marriage or anything. I feel when I don’t believe in a concept what is the point talking about it or going that way.”
For a long time now, both Ankit and Priyanka have mentioned to the world that their bond is just pure friendship. Emphasising it again, Ankit mentioned that he was not ready to do anything that would spoil their steady bonding. In his words:
“It's been two years now that we have been explaining to people that we are just friends and it is gender biased. We are very comfortable with each other and I am very tired of now explaining to people. We leave it to them whatever they want to think about us."

Well, while their bonding might not be nothing more than just friendship, Ankit promises to be beside Priyanka on her times of need. He also mentioned that he would not want to make anything out of their bond just for the sake of getting fame and entertainment. In his words:
“We (Priyanka and him) share a very special bond and the thing I mentioned while she was reading her letter that your father did not mention anything about me was for fun. You need to understand that in that house there is nothing for entertainment. It is only people with whom you can joke and have fun around. It was a very emotional moment for her because she was getting to read her family’s letter after such a long time. She was very emotional and I wanted her to feel good and make her smile. I wanted to tease her."
