On September 11, 2023, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor took to his Instagram handle and penned a note about the culture of buying replicas of branded shoes. In his note, the actor called out those who wear fake sneakers. Harsh Varrdhan even asked people to buy the available shoes within their budget rather than buying replicas. He also talked about the importance of buying sneakers from authentic and trusted sellers. An excerpt of his note can be read as:
"Don't know who needs to hear this but pls stop wearing fake sneakers.. if you have a low/moderate budget there's plenty of great options out there. If someone gets you a gift and they happen to be inauthentic u can pass them to someone else that doesn't know what they are and would be happy to wear .. but if you're buying your own please do your due diligence .. buy from trusted sellers .."

Harsh Varrdhan also penned another note and asked the boys to invest in their looks. The actor stated that one doesn't need to wear expensive stuff. Mentioning that styling an expensive pair of shoes with a good outfit is important, Harsh Varrdhan said that looks reflect one's personality and everyone should pay keen attention to it. The actor also mentioned that fashion speaks volumes about one's individuality and uniqueness, so people must learn about style.
Soon after Harsh Varrdhan dropped the IG stories, internet users re-shared the same on the discussion platform, Reddit. And within no time, the internet users flooded the comment section with their witty reactions. While one Reddit user commented, "Bruh can't flex his money anymore because others look like wearing the same thing," another one commented, "Jija ki dukaan hai naa." Reacting to the post, one more social media user wrote, "Because his jiju has a shoe business, among others?"
