It is said that behind every successful man there is a woman! But what about a woman? Well, behind every great woman, there is a father, who supported her and believed in all her dreams. The moment a father holds his little angel in his arms, his world changes for the better and he becomes softer. And an exactly similar thing happened with Bollywood's 'Jhakkas' man, Anil Kapoor when he held his elder daughter, Sonam Kapoor in his hands. Sonam shares a great bond with her father, Anil and for her, he is always going to be the most handsome man alive. We still remember in an interview with the Pinkvilla, the actress had shared that she is her father's favourite and shares his personality traits. She had also revealed that her father wanted her to be an actress but her mother wanted her to finish her studies and because of which her acting dream was delayed.
Recently, in an interview with the Bombay Times, Anil shared one of the most important changes he has noticed in his 'not-so-anymore-little' daughter, Sonam. He revealed that she has started to cook in London, however, he hasn't tried any of her dishes but he has heard that she cooks well. The actor also stated that his relationship with his damaad, Anand Ahuja is of friends. (Also Read: Neha Dhupia Finally Reacts On Being Trolled For Postpartum Weight Gain And Not Getting Work)
Anil also talked about the grand Diwali celebrations thrown by the Kapoors this year. He said, "This time, fortunately, Anand and Sonam were here in India, so we had a great party. It was hosted by Sonam and Rhea, so all their friends were there. My wife (Sunita Kapoor) is a great hostess and I feel Sonam and Rhea have taken it from their mother. Sunita and I were there too, but only to see to it that they don’t destroy the house (laughs!). When it comes to missing Sonam, yes, we do miss her, especially when she is away in London."
Earlier, in a media interaction, Anil had talked about the bond he shares with his daughter's husband, and had said, "He’s not my son-in-law, he’s like my son... I’d say, friend. We bond over health, fitness and loving our parents and family. He’s very work-oriented, so we talk about that. Of course, there are things that I learned from him since he has travelled so much, has studied in one of the best universities. These things I’m taking from him. He’s young and comes up with great, fresh ideas where health is concerned. He has got a lot of depth and is very spiritual. It’s a combination of so many things we relate and connect to."
In an interview with Planet Bollywood, Sonam had talked about her relationship with her parents. She had shared, "My parents gave me everything but they also ensured that I was brought up as normally as possible. My parents are a unit and they make joint decisions. At the end of the day, my dad comes home and leaves his work behind, so there has never been any conflict with that. From my mother, we learned to be sensitive to world issues and this awareness was instilled in us. I studied theatre arts, English and History and hence, have a good perspective on the world and larger issues and try not to get carried away with the smaller stuff."
