As we all are busy writing verses on motherhood and the great joy that comes with it. However, it’s time to celebrate the love of our very own superman without a cape, and Bollywood actor and new daddy in the city, Angad Bedi is helping us out to break the notion surrounding dads. Angad Bedi got married to Neha Dhupia in a private Sikh ceremony on May 10, 2018, giving a sweet surprise to their fans. And soon they announced their pregnancy that came us another sweet surprise. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Angad opened about the first time when he held baby Mehr in his arms. He said, “The first time I held her was when she came out of her mother's womb. I cut the chord and for me, it was a surreal moment. You know till the time it doesn't happen you don't understand."
Angad also revealed how it feels to hold a newborn in your arm. He stated, "When the delivery is about to happen, those are moments I will always consider them as the most special. Winning an award or signing of the film can never be compared to the feeling of holding a newborn in your arms.”
Angad further added, “I feel that Mehr Dhupia Bedi is my biggest achievement and I take full pride in being called her father. She has got the DNA of both me and Neha and I believe she is going to be a hardworking individual. She already has a strong mindset of her own, She has got strong likes and dislikes. We have got two nurses to take care. She has a fondness for one and complete disliking for the another. She is growing up and she is already 4.5 kgs. She is pulling height really fast. Neha is 5.9 and I am 6.1, we will definitely have a tall Mehr. My everything reloves around her and she has brought me a lot of luck. I have managed to sign four projects. I have finished shooting for three of them and one, I will start in February. In the same interview, Angad talked about Mehr and how he wants her to be a good human being. He said, “I just want Mehr to be a good human being who values everything in life and understand the fact of making money through hard work. This is what my parents taught me and I hope they are here for long enough to inculcate the same in Mehr. Hard work and perseverance are the two things as parents we want her to imbibe in herself. I would like to put her in many sports-based activities. Neha asked me one day, 'What do you want Mehr to do' and I said, 'I would want her to win a Gold medal for the country in Olympics'. It's the age of women and we have examples like that of PV Sindhu, Sania, and Saina. We would like to encourage her to stay close to nature and away from Ipad or phones. I would want her to learn from grandparents. My dad has many anecdotes to share from the world of cricket and Neha's father is from the Navy. She will have a mix of both the worlds.”
Angad also shared the interesting story of naming their daughter Mehr. He stated, “There's a very interesting story to it. My father whenever he signs off on texts or facetime chat, he will always say 'Guru Mehr Kare' (God Bless you). This is how he expresses himself and Mehr means blessing. Neha said that 'I really like how your dad says Mehr Kare and it's a beautiful name and that's how we kept the name. Neha took it from my dad. Mehr is someone who gives us a lot of happiness. We are in a very insecure profession and you are judged every time.”
Angad further went on to say, “It consumes you completely and once I come back home to Mehr and Neha, its a beautiful world altogether. The biggest compliment I got was after I had Mehr in my life. Now, you have to start thinking in terms of three and not one. We are a family of three and it makes your more responsible in a nice way. My father said your eyes have changed and they have become softer.
