Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Sonam Ahuja's marriage was love marriage setup, and they had initially started talking only on social media. Since then, they have been maintaining their long-distance relationship and marriage like how! Anand had recently shared with a magazine about their idea of a blissful marriage and was quoted as saying, "When it comes to marriage, small things matter a lot. We eat meals together, even if we are in different time zones, on Skype. We also actively make sure that we don’t go over two weeks without seeing each other."
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Sonam Ahuja are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today and Anand's anniversary wish for his wifey is adorable beyond words. He took to Instagram, shared the following pictures and calling Sonam a 'blessing' in his life, Anand Sonam Ahuja has written, "Some of my favourite #shoefies w my (scroll to see our first one ever) ... I love posting these not because I love shoes (and you KNOW I love shoes) but because the idea of looking down reminds me to stay present, grounded and most importantly grateful! I could tell you exactly where we were and what we were feeling at the time I took these."
Anand Ahuja shared another picture (following) on their first wedding anniversary, and beautifully captioned it as, "For a long time, this was my favorite pic of us ... it was 3 months of being together and now it’s been 3 years! You were my “girlfriend” then and when we got married last year, you ALSO became my wife. Anand had recently shared with MensXP about his and Sonam's first wedding anniversary plans that they are going to be in London. He had revealed, "It's funny. Sonam is always messing on my plans. Last year, she had canned right after the wedding. We didn't do a honeymoon. We did a really short one in Japan. This year, we were again planning to go to Japan but then her 'Zoya Factor' schedule is there and it has changed a bit. We are not going in June, but we will go after her birthday. We are so fortunate that with our schedules, we travel so much and get to spend time. We will be in London for the anniversary. London is a little break for her. We will surely do a Japan trip at the end of the year."
After their wedding, Sonam and Anand had given a rather long interview to the Vogue magazine. Talking about their love story and first meeting, Sonam had opened up and said, “I was apparently wearing the worst sneakers he had ever seen. I keep telling him that he fell in love with me despite my bad sneaker game… That day, walking and talking in London, I knew he was the love of my life. He apparently knew the first time we spoke on the phone… It was just so easy.”
Sonam and Anand are always passionate about their work and support each other in their professional matters. Sonam had shared with Vogue, "It’s nice making a home together. Anand is so encouraging when it comes to my work that he didn’t blink when I told him I was flying to Cannes two days after the wedding or that I was getting into promotions straightaway. There was no argument, just acceptance—you gotta do what you gotta do. But he posed one question to me: ‘If it was me who had to go to a work meeting right after the wedding, what would you do?’ I said I’ll kill you. So he’s like, ‘I think it’s double standards!’”
Speaking reverently about his wifey, Sonam, Anand had told a media portal that he thinks his wifey to be 'intuitive and patient'. He had said, "She gives me a lot of confidence. Sonam’s very black and white. She knows what’s wrong and what’s right, and is not afraid to say it. I can see both sides of a story, but I often get stuck in the grey zone. I sometimes need to be able to say no, and Sonam gives me the confidence to do that, she supports me. She’s intuitive and patient, I second-guess."
