While Sonam and Anand have been making headlines with their cute social media PDA, they often remind us how important little things are. In an interview with The Indian Express, Sonam had talked about her idea of romance, and had shared, “Little things. Observation. Understanding. The kind of coffee you drink. All of these are more romantic than the grand gestures.”
The couple is in a long-distance marriage, but their union has always been an inspiration to many and their pictures ooze an immense amount of love. Recently, Anand took to his Instagram handle and shared a throwback picture with Sonam, wherein, we can see the couple sitting on the floor with their luggage looking stylish as ever. He captioned the picture as, "Airport Shenanigans w my #TBT" with a bunny emoji. Take a look at the picture below:
Coming back to Sonam and Anand’s fairytale love story, Anand had revealed the old-school detail of their courtship period. In an interview with Filmfare, he had shared, “We would talk over the phone. It was seven weeks before we actually met. By then, we knew we were in love but (we) met in person to solidify it. In a post-marriage interview with Elle magazine, Anand had talked about his long-distance marriage with Sonam, and had revealed, “Long distance can get tiring, but we're lucky that Delhi, London and Mumbai are all home, for work. It could be worse, but it obviously could be better. It's hard to not be together, especially after you get around to being married and you want to have that time. But Sonam's got a hectic schedule this year — she's got four films coming up. But we make it work. We have certain tricks — for example, we always have a meal together over Skype.”
He had further added, “If she's in India and I'm in London, then we do my lunch and her dinner, or she'll do her lunch and my breakfast. So those small things — even if you keep 30-40 minutes aside — changes everything, because you get that dedicated time. It's that consistency you build over time which can really help. When we first met, we would go as long as three to five weeks without seeing each other, and I realised that Sonam gets really impatient after two weeks. So, now we try to not make it go longer than two weeks, and taking short trips help in that sense.”
Anand had also revealed how Sonam is the constant source of inspiration in his life, and had stated, “When Sonam and I first spoke, I was inspired by her, and that's something I always wanted in a partner. She's been working since she was 17-18 years; she's gone through so much, and she's built herself that way. I met Sonam two and a half years ago, and before that, around five-six years ago, I didn't know Anil Kapoor was her dad. I knew them both as actors, but not part of the same family. So Sonam is definitely where I drive my inspiration from. Even her dad, he's all about work, and her mom is so smart, she runs the house. My dad and Sonam are similar in that way — they're both very competitive.
