As per recent reports, the couple has opted to live in separate homes after 11 years of their marriage. Though there are no reports of separation and the duo share cordial terms with each other.
Amruta Khanvilkar and Himanshu Malhotra met at a reality show and fell in love
Amruta and Himanshu met each other for the first time when they participated in the reality show, Cinestars Ki Khoj, way back in 2004. Despite being from different cultural backgrounds (Amruta is a Marathi, while Himanshu is a Punjabi), they formed a bond quickly and became good friends. Soon their friendship turned into love and they began dating.
Amruta and Himanshu went through a lot of ups and downs in their relationship but they never left each other’s side. There came a point in their life when the duo broke up for a brief period and Amruta went on to date someone else. Yes, she was rumoured to be dating a music director but soon realised that it won’t work.
The rumour was confirmed during one of the episodes of Nach Baliye 7, in which both Amruta and Himanshu participated. Himanshu confirmed the rumours and said:
“Amruta and I were seeing each other for nine years, but in between we had broken off. She got into another relationship then. However, she realised that it was not working out and came back to me. I accept her, whatever she has done.”
After 11 years of dating each other, Amruta and Himanshu got married on January 24, 2015. The couple had three pre-wedding functions including, a mata ki chowki followed by cocktail, sangeet and ring ceremony. Their wedding was a star-studded event in which almost all the friends of the couple were present.
Are Amruta Khanvilkar and Himanshu Malhotra parting ways?
There have been a lot of rumours in the past that Amruta Khanvilkar and Himanshu Malhotra are planning to split. However, they have always rubbished the rumours and called them baseless. However, as per a recent report in Bombay Times, Amruta Khanvilkar and Himanshu Malhotra have been living in separate homes for the past 18 months. The duo, who had been married since 2015, are currently residing separately. However, there has been no discussion of separation between them, as the duo remain on cordial terms with each other. Both Amruta and Himanshu have not yet reacted to the reports.
This is not the first time that rumours of their split surfaced in the media. In 2020, there were reports that Amruta and Himanshu are parting ways on amicable terms. In an interview with The Times of India, Himanshu cleared the rumours and said:
“Amu (Amruta) and I have been married for five years and have known each other for the last 16 years. We dated for 11 years before getting married. We are extremely happy in this relationship. Speculations about our separation started doing rounds after we won Nach Baliye. During the show, we used to post a lot of our pictures and messages on social media as it was the demand of the show. Our relationship existed much before social media caught on.”
