Amruta Khanvilkar and Himanshu Malhotra have been living in separate homes
As per the reports in Bombay Times, Amruta Khanvilkar and Himanshu Malhotra have been living in separate homes for the past 18 months. Yes, you read that right. The duo, who had been married since 2015, are currently residing separately. However, there has been no discussion of separation between them, as the duo remain on cordial terms with each other. Both Amruta and Himanshu have not yet reacted to the reports.
Amruta Khanvilkar previously rubbished the reports of their split
Amruta Khanvilkar and Himanshu Malhotra got married in 2015, and after five years of their marriage, netizens noticed that the Marathi actress had blocked her husband on social media. Not just this, reports also stated that Amruta also blocked his phone number. The reports soon gave rise to speculations that all was not well in their paradise and the two were heading for a divorce.
However, as soon as the news spread, Amruta cleared the air and revealed why she blocked Himanshu’s phone number, saying she wanted to have a long conversation with him, and he kept dodging it by giving an excuse of an early morning shoot. Talking about the same in an interview with Bombay Times, Amruta said:
“As a person, I am not very expressive, and so, I could not tell him that I missed him. Eventually, we ended up fighting, and he hung up on me. I was so upset, I blocked his number in the heat of the moment and unfollowed him on social media.”
Not just this, the actress soon realised that blocking Himanshu’s phone number was a very childish act on her part. Revealing how she realised the gravity of the situation when reports of their separation surfaced in the media. In her words:
“I realised how childish I was when I unblocked his number the next morning. Himanshu said that he kept calling me the entire night, but could not get through. It was a spur-of-the-moment act, and I didn’t realise that it would lead to speculations about trouble in our marriage."
Amruta and Himanshu first crossed paths when they participated in the reality show, Cinestars Ki Khoj, way back in 2004. The two became friends and soon started falling for each other. After dating for some years, Himanshu and Amruta tied the knot in 2015. The couple participated in Nach Baliye Season 7 and won the title.
While the two participated in the reality show, during a task, the news about Amruta's affair with a music director was released. Everyone was shocked by the news. However, Himmanshu's take on it won everyone's heart as he said:
“Amruta and I were seeing each other for nine years, but in between we had broken off. She got into another relationship then. However, she realised that it was not working out and came back to me. I accept her, whatever she has done.”
