When you are in a relationship or you have a crush on someone and wish to take things on to the next level, you hope and pray that you get an approval from your parents. In India, for the sake of our sanskaars, an approval from parents and siblings is a must to go ahead in a relationship, and we love how this binds the family together. However, sometimes, in order to seek approval, you end up losing the one you love. Not every time your parents approve of your partner. If you have been a Bollywood buff, you would know about Sara Ali Khan’s crush on Kartik Aaryan as she had confessed her wish to date him on one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan. Saif Ali Khan had graced the 'Coffee Couch' with his daughter, Sara Ali Khan, and people had seen the father-daughter duo together for the first time on a chat show. It was on the chat show that Sara had professed her crush on Kartik Aaryan on National television and had created uproar. While the nation was busy shipping Kartik and Sara together, Sara’s mother was against her feelings for Kartik.
We got hold of a throwback report of Bollywood Hungama, which had quoted its source stating that Amrita Singh had felt that her daughter, Sara should not listen to her heart and focus more on her career when Sara had confessed about her crush on Kartik Aaryan. It was quoted as saying, “Amrita feels now is the time for her daughter to consolidate her career and not get distracted by matters of the heart. Sara, on the other hand, is way too spontaneous to make calculated career decision. She thinks with her heart. And her heart tells her it’s okay to mix work with a personal life.” It was also stated that this had let to many arguments between the mother and daughter as Amrita ji could not stop her daughter from listening to her heart over her brain.
Apparently, Saif Ali Khan was comfortable with daughter, Sara Ali Khan’s relationship with Kartik Aaryan and he only wanted her to be happy. A source close to Saif had told Bollywood Hungama, “Both Kareena and Saif are fond of Kartik, specially Kareena who shot for a show with Kartik recently and has since then been telling her friends what a well-behaved boy he is.”
Going into the flashback when the Bollywood industry and the fans were shipping 'Kartik-Sara' and it was all everyone would talk about! When Kartik Aaryan had come on Koffee With Karan, Karan Johar had probed him why he hasn't asked Sara out on a date yet. To which, he had retorted, "So, what I'm doing is, sir, I'm just trying to, you know, earn more and more money right now. Saif (Ali Khan) sir said, 'Does he have the money?' So, I'm just..." Karan had quipped, "And, you clearly don't have the money that can match the Prince of Pataudi." Kartik had replied, "I don't know. She is a princess. So, you know, to ask her out on a date, you know, I would require a certain bank balance."
