Amitabh Bachchan has been entertaining the audience on the television screen, through the iconic quiz-based show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. The show, which had aired for the first time in the year 2000, has been seeing everyone’s favourite actor, Big B sitting on the famous ‘hot seat’, as he quizzed the contestants on various general knowledge matters. However, the thing that always catches the interest of the audience sitting at home and watching the show are the countless anecdotes the host, Amitabh shares, which intrigue them further. Be it tidbits from his personal life or work experiences, these small revelations increase the TRP of the show in no time. And now, something similar happened yet again.
In the recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, Amitabh Bachchan engaged in a fun banter with a contestant named Jaya Patel from Chhattisgarh. During the rounds of the quiz show, Jaya, who is a teacher by profession, revealed that she turns strict when at school, and gentle when at home. After that, she quickly quipped in and added Big B about the kind of experience he has got with the name, Jaya, which was a seeming hint at the actor’s wife, Jaya Bachchan. To this, Big B gave a very interesting response and accepted that he was scared of his wife, who is very strict. Elaborating more, Amitabh mentioned:
“She's strict and lenient too. I'm saved. I have to go home. I don't want to be thrashed. So, when she's strict it's better if you stay in. Stay locked in your room or go out for a while. When she's lenient, it's great. That's how she is towards her kids and everyone else. She's stricter with me. Why did you ask me this? When I will watch this show with her, she will scold me. It scares me so I don't talk much about my personal life.”

In one of her earlier interviews with eminent fashion designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Jaya Bachchan had rebuffed the idea of her husband, Amitabh Bachchan accepting the offer to host a show like Kaun Banega Crorepati. The actress mentioned how her husband had been going through the worst phase of his career, and added her apprehensions that the show might reduce his image as a small-screen actor. She had mentioned:
“Can you imagine I never wanted him to do it? Somehow felt that it was somewhere not correct to shrink him into the small screen.”
Jaya Bachchan happens to be one such actress in Tinseltown, who does not like getting clicked without her permission. Moreover, she has often been spotted appearing rude to the paparazzi, who click her out and about in the city. Nevertheless, there was once a moment when the actress did not get annoyed when she was clicked unaware. Well, back on September 6, 2023, Amitabh Bachchan had shared a super cute video with Jaya from their shooting set. Big B clicked a video of his wife, when she wasn’t looking. However, the minute she became aware of being clicked, she gave a sweet smile.

In an earlier episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, Amitabh Bachchan was heard revealing a very cute reason behind his marriage with Jaya Bachchan. Well, as the actor was seen praising the then-contestant, Priyanka Maharshi's long silky-smooth hair, Amitabh seemingly mentioned how his liking for his wife, Jaya Bachchan's long hair back in their generation became the reason for him marrying her. In his words:
“Humne apni patni se byaah ek iss wajah se kiya tha kyuki unke kesh kaafi lambi the."
