Eat, sleep, binge and repeat! That’s how most people are spending their lockdown at home. But some have managed to fit in some time for their workouts too and are proving to be an inspiration to stay fit. Lockdown has been imposed in the nation for people to stay at home to stay healthy, and some have been following a strict workout schedule and diet to stay fit too. The 77-year-old veteran actor, Amitabh Bachchan, who despite the lockdown, makes sure to keep up with his fitness regime at his home gym. Amitabh Bachchan is spending his lockdown at his Mumbai residence, Jalsa with his children, Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and grandchildren, Navya Naveli Nanda, Agastya Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan. Meanwhile, his wife, Jaya Bachchan is stuck in their Delhi home and as per a Bollywood Hungama report, she is enjoying her solitude. The report had stated that Mrs Bachchan is catching up on a lot of paperwork, unseen films, and is taking a long brisk walk every morning and evening in her back garden. Jaya Bachchan is not planning to return to Mumbai anytime soon even if the lockdown is lifted and the flights resume because she’s not sure how safe it would be to travel.
Amitabh Bachchan is making the most of his lockdown phase by keeping up with his fitness regime. Big B has been giving glimpses of his fitness routine through his social media profiles and a while back, he has posted a mirror selfie with his workout partner. Dressed in traditional outfits designed by the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the Bachchan clan was #FamilyGoals. In May 2019, Agastya Nanda had graduated from Sevenoaks School, London and his proud grandfather, Amitabh Bachchan had penned his feelings in his blog. He had written, "Another (grandchild) several miles away graduates and it's a moment of great pride and joy... The family is all with him and there are frequent messages and pictures flying about. But I mean, he was just born the other day and we had all been around his mother at Breach Candy Hospital, and carried him into the world with affection and love... And there he is today, spanking big boy, carnation on his suit lapel, hair flushed back and looking very British... And taller than everyone else in the family. Err...almost... still have to see where he measures against Abhishek and me."
In a 2018 interview with the IANS, Amitabh Bachchan, who had successfully transitioned from Bollywood's ‘Angry young man’ to its ‘Shahenshah’, had revealed that he has no legacy to leave behind. He was quoted as saying, "It is coming on to 50 years in public life... That is as far as I am personally concerned... But I have been in public life from the day I was born. I was always the son of Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan, eminent poet, litterateur, having public presence far greater than mine. I have no legacy... My father's legacy is what I am interested in, and I shall try always to further it." Big B had expressed his wish to pass on his father’s wisdom to his children and grandchildren, "Memories with my father and time spent with him are personal... But yes lessons learnt from him would certainly be passed on to Abhishek. These are family oriented. Each family has their own conduct and behaviour, and they are executed in a manner where the next generation continues the legacy of the past.
