Ameesha Patel made a name for herself with her smashing Bollywood debut, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, opposite Hrithik Roshan. This film laid down a firm path for her journey as an actress, as she indeed had been able to reach out to millions overnight, despite being a newcomer. Nevertheless, she has been a part of quite a few cult iconic films, such as Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage, Humraaz, Race 2, Bhool Bhulaiyya, Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic among others.
Interestingly, much like her prolific acting career, it had also been her personal life that comprised of a handful of relationships that had gained the limelight simultaneously. Moreover, since none of them became a permanent commitment, she is thus still a happy bachelor at the age of 47. Well then, let us take a look at her love life and previous relationships.

To top the list of her relationships, Ameesha was once in quite a serious relationship with filmmaker, Vikram Bhatt. They had met one another even before her debut in 2000 for the making of the film, Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage, which ended up releasing two years after her debut film, Kaho Na Pyar Hai. They dated for a total of five years, and were never a media shy couple. Other than making lots of public appearances together, Vikram Bhatt once, in an interview, candidly spoke about his relationship with Ameesha and had mentioned:
“At this point of time she’s chasing her career, and I’m chasing her. I’m ready whenever she is. This relationship is for keeps. But I don’t want to say much. In the past I’ve been terribly hurt after taking a relationship to my heart”.
While everything was going pretty smoothly between the two of them, they called it quits abruptly after being five years together with one another. Interestingly, the reason behind their split was not due to any misunderstanding or clash among themselves, but was instead because of Ameesha’s ongoing legal battle against her own father, on the grounds of apparently mismanaging her financial account. It affected their time and space together and they thought it was better to move apart. Spilling beans on the same, Vikram had once mentioned:
“I don’t think we ever loved each other. Ameesha had problems of her own with her parents and we both shared a period of our lives where we were going through a low phase in our career. We now realize that actually, we were just good friends who mistook it for love. We still remain friends. She is a lovely girl and I only wish good things for her”.
Back in the year 2004, Ameesha had shocked everyone when she had sent her father, Amit Patel a legal notice for allegedly mismanaging her financial accounts and assets, which had a value of over Rs 12 crores. Amit Patel had reportedly used all his daughter’s money into re-building a business. She sued her father and demanded her money back. In response, Ameesha’s parents had apparently also dragged in her then-beau, Vikram Bhatt, who in his defence, had frankly claimed to be supportive of Ameesha in her fight. In one of her interviews with the Hindustan Times, Ameesha had defended her move and had mentioned that she did not feel ashamed of channelling a legal route against her own parents. She had mentioned:
“Why should I feel ashamed? My money belongs to no one but me and not even my parents have the right to take it away.”

Coming back to her love life, after a long while post her break-up with Vikram Bhatt, she was during 2008s spotted with London-based businessman, Kanav Puri. They had made their first public appearance at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. While their visible camaraderie and proximity had obviously churned their dating rumours, it was a few months later when Ameesha confirmed her relationship with Kanav. In an interview, she had mentioned:
“I did not admit to Kanav sooner because he's very special and I did not want to jinx it. It was too precious for me to talk about it to people. It's almost six months now and now I am feeling secure and now I know our relationship is too strong for anything or anyone to come between us”.
Sadly, this relationship between Ameesha and Kanav was also short-lived and due to personal reasons best known to them, the duo had parted ways in 2010.
It was almost seven years after her previous relationship that Ameesha had begun to hit the headlines with her supposed affair with Bollywood’s infamous cassanova, Ranbir Kapoor. It was in 2017 when she was first spotted among as the only one outside of the Kapoor family who had been a part of Randhir Kapoor’s intimate birthday bash. However, since none of them ever confirmed or denied their dating rumours, this bit of gossip about them has had gradually died down.
Well, there was also at one point when Ameesha Patel was said to be in a relationship with popular entrepreneur, Ness Wadia. For the unversed, Ness, who was previously dating actress, Preity Zinta had after his break-up with the former developed feelings for Ameesha. In fact, there were even other reports that Ness was willing to marry Ameesha and settle down with her, only to be refused by her. Ameesha at that point of time was more willing to anchor her career and was in no mind to marry.
