She made her debut in the 2000 blockbuster film, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. And since then, she has acted in numerous Bollywood hits like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Humraaz, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, to name a few. She has done over 40 films in a career spanning 18 years. But as is the notion and sadly the truth as well, it’s not at all easy to achieve stardom in Bollywood. Yes, we’re talking about Ameesha Patel.

The pretty damsel, who was once (and arguably is) considered as the ‘sexiest woman alive’ in a survey, hasn’t had a golden run in the Hindi film industry. Despite doing so many movies, Ameesha’s career graph has not been going uphill for many years. In fact, we all know about her career but little is known about her personal life. And even in that department, either by choice or chance, Ameesha’s love life hasn’t been a bed of roses for her. Let us take a sneak peek into Ameesha Patel’s love life and the men she has ever dated or gotten linked to.
Before her debut in the year 2000, Ameesha Patel met the Bollywood producer and director, Vikram Bhatt in 1999 for their film Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (which eventually released in 2002). Their love-life garnered huge media attention then. In fact, they were never shy to admit their relationship in public. Vikram once said:
“At this point of time she’s chasing her career, and I’m chasing her. I’m ready whenever she is. This relationship is for keeps. But I don’t want to say much. In the past I’ve been terribly hurt after taking a relationship to my heart”.

Ameesha Patel and Vikram Bhatt dated for five years and eventually parted ways. Giving a plausible reason behind their break up, Vikram was quoted as saying:
“I don’t think we ever loved each other. Ameesha had problems of her own with her parents and we both shared a period of our lives where we were going through a low phase in our career. We now realize that actually, we were just good friends who mistook it for love. We still remain friends. She is a lovely girl and I only wish good things for her”.
The problems mentioned in the above quote about Ameesha’s parents have to do with her father. Reportedly, Patel and Bhatt families had a huge tiff because of Ameesha’s financial crisis, for her father had invested all her hard-earned into resurrecting a business. Ameesha even sent a legal notice to her father alleging him of mismanaging her account which had over 120 million rupees. Eventually, her love also got affected and in January 2008, Vikram Bhatt confirmed that he has broken up with Ameesha Patel.
In March 2008, Ameesha Patel was snapped with the London-based businessman Kanav Puri at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. 3 months later, in June 2008, Ameesha confirmed to a media portal that she is dating Kanav:
“I did not admit to Kanav sooner because he's very special and I did not want to jinx it. It was too precious for me to talk about it to people. It's almost six months now and now I am feeling secure and now I know our relationship is too strong for anything or anyone to come between us”.
But their relationship didn’t last long, and in 2010, Ameesha confirmed it to the Times of India that she and Kanav have parted ways.

Yes, after being single for more than 7 years, link-up rumours between Ameesha Patel and Ranbir Kapoor were abuzz last year. In fact, at Randhir Kapoor’s private birthday bash, she was the only person apart from his family. In another party, as per a report in Deccan Chronicle, Ameesha cornered Ranbir to have a private conversation. Reportedly, Ranbir made a quick exit from the party, maybe because he was aware of their link-up rumours floating around. However, no reports post this incident has surfaced anywhere.
