Blowing candles at midnight, cutting a number of cakes, wearing that beautiful dress and partying with friends and family is something we all love doing on our birthdays. It is the most awaited day that comes every year and we cherish every moment of it. There are many moments which make our day special but the most cherished moment is when we celebrate our birthday with our family. Our siblings, who try their best to surprise us, either planning our birthday party with family or getting the most anticipated gift which we have been eying for a long time. Alia Bhatt shares a very warm bond with her elder sister, Shaheen Bhatt and has always called Shaheen, her emotional anchor. Their bond is very much visible on their Instagram handles and the two have marvelled in their respective fields. If Alia is a superb actress, then Shaheen is a master of words. Their personalities are totally different, Alia who shares a huge fanbase is quite active on social media and on the other hand, Shaheen is an aesthetic believer and stays away from the limelight. They might be totally different in their personalities, but their bond has given major sister goals to the millenials.
On November 28, 2019, Shaheen turned a year older and it was Alia, who penned a beautiful birthday note for her sister. Alia took to her Instagram handle and shared two unseen childhood pictures of them and wrote, “Now here’s that moment where I’m struggling to type that perfect birthday caption for my brilliant sisters birthday.. I type I cancel I type I cancel.. and the reason I do that is (well for starters I’m not a beautiful writer like her) but also cause we speak a language that would probably not make sense.”
Her note further read, “The relationship we share is a language that doesn’t exist.. except for in our eyes.. and toes okay and maybeeee our knees... So anyway.. Sir... You’re the sweetest artichoke the pudding of Naples has seen cause eventually we all just have to bobble our way through the heavens of sisterhood and I’m glad we’ve had the little nook of heaven with cats and aloo fry and tons of London! Happy birthday sweet carrot I hope we yoddle together for as long as we have arms and leggies :) Oh and happy birthday.” The pictures shared by Alia was cute beyond words. In one of the pictures, Alia and Shaheen were seen enjoying their time on a beach, while Shaheen was all smiles, Alia didn’t seem quite happy but her cute grumpy look just blew our minds. On August 3, 2019, Shaheen had shared a throwback picture where her baby sister, Alia was sitting on her lap. Along with the picture, Shaheen had written, “Now I know why my career as a ventriloquist crashed and burned.” To this, their half-sister, Pooja Bhatt had commented, “Awwwwww”, followed by heart eye and heart emojis.
Not many know that Shaheen Bhatt had her struggle with depression and in 2016, she had talked for the first time about her fight with depression in a social media post. She had also launched an initiative called Here Comes The Sun to help people come out of depression. On World Mental Health Day (October 10, 2019), Alia had written an emotional message for her sister, Shaheen Bhatt. Alia was Shaheen’s constant support throughout her difficult phase and stood like a pillar for her Shaheen.
Alia had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a picture of Shaheen. Along with the picture, she had written, "I am so so proud of you @shaheenb And of @herecomesthesunofficial. You have taken something so personal and made it a symbol of strength and empathy. No one needs to be alone as they struggle with mental health, battling their own fears and anxiety. Sometimes all you need to know that you're not alone!!!
