Being a woman in our society is not a cakewalk! You will be told how to live your own life because people assume it's okay to poke their nose into others’ lives and dictate their choices. Recently, when Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced their pregnancy within a few months of their marriage on June 27, 2022, society started to shame the couple. From questioning Alia’s timing of pregnancy to trolling her for starting a family too soon, sexism did not spare this moment of happiness.
Not only the netizens! Even humongous companies had indirectly taken a dig at the couple in an effort to be funny. For instance, when the popular condom brand, Durex, who is known for its creative marketing, came up with a cringy post to congratulate Alia and Ranbir, it was hugely criticised by a section of people as it was not funny and maybe too personal.
In a recent media interaction, while promoting her film, Darlings, Alia Bhatt finally reacted to the trolls questioning the timing of her pregnancy. When asked about her pregnancy announcement, the actress said it was the most beautiful experience of her life as she received lots of love and warmth from around the world. And while reacting to people's nasty comments, Alia said she knew this would happen as every beautiful thing has a strain on it. She said:
“It was a beautiful experience. There was so much love and positivity. We received so much warmth. When you talk about the noisy people, that I expected because every beautiful thing has a detractor. Chaand pe bhi daag hai.”
Further, in the conversation, Alia Bhatt shared how she was prepared for the negative comments and did not get offend by them. The actress talked about her ideology in life and said people should only focus on the positive aspects of life instead of paying any heed to the haters. In her words:
“I wasn’t surprised by the negative reactions nor was I bothered by them. I feel these things originate from a very stupid and shallow space. I remember only the good things and there’s still so much love coming in. Why not focus on the positivity instead of focussing on a few nonsensical eyebrows.”
When someone asked Alia Bhatt about her decision to work during pregnancy, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress said that if a person is healthy, they can work during pregnancy. Alia can be heard saying:
“Agar aap fit ho, healthy ho, fine ho toh koi rest lene ki zarurat hai hi nahi. Kaam karna mujhe sukoon deta hai, meri passion hai, it keeps my heart, my soul everything alive and charged. Toh main toh matlab 100 saal ki umar tak kaam karungi.”
On the work front, Alia will be next seen in her film, Darlings.
