Alia Bhatt Reacts To 'Complete Lies' Said About Her, Clarifies Her Take On Viral 'Wipe Off' Comment

Alia Bhatt is one of the leading actresses of her generation. Married to Ranbir Kapoor, she is a loving mommy to their daughter, Raha Kapoor. Despite riding high on the professional front, Alia has often been targeted by the trolls for one reason or the other. Previously, Kangana Ranaut also launched many vicious attacks on Alia and Ranbir's relationship, but the couple never reacted to her. Now, Alia finally talked about the same and revealed why she chose to stay silent.

Alia Bhatt talks about receiving online hatred

Recently, Alia Bhatt attended the HT summit, wherein she was asked about facing online trolling on a daily basis. Talking about the same, Alia said that when she receives criticism from her fans, she prefers to stay silent as she has grown into someone who has nothing to complain about. However, she added that she was affected by the trolls initially and was more defensive and said:

“I have lived my life in the public eye. So I have gone through different stages of scrutiny that maybe I have faced. Maybe initially I was a little more defensive. When you are younger, you are like, ‘Arre why are they saying this?' But later on, I was a bit more dismissive; 'Forget it, nobody cares'. But I think I have grown into a person who genuinely feels that I have nothing to complain about. And I don’t think that with the position and privilege that I have, it doesn't look like to say that ‘Oh I don’t like that people are saying maybe not so nice things about me'."

Alia Bhatt on the nasty things said about her and her relationships

Alia addressed all the trolling that she faces on a daily basis and revealed why she decides to never react to them. She mentioned that there is a difference between constructive criticism and spreading hate and added that nobody enjoys reading nasty things about them. However, Alia shared that she never fights back because whatever she is, it's because of her audience. In her words:

“Even though sometimes you don't want to read nasty things about yourself, your husband, your loved ones or your relationship, or anything like that, nobody enjoys it. But I'm not gonna fight with my audience because those who are writing are my audience. As long as my movies are doing well and I am entertaining them, when I say I am grateful for all the love, these are the moments that I have to show my gratitude. I'm here because of the audience."

Alia Bhatt on her viral lipstick comment

Alia Bhatt also talked about how she heard a lot of chatter about her but chose not to react to it. However, she added that being a human being, she is bound to make some mistakes. Hinting at her viral lipstick controversy, the actress mentioned that people don't notice when she says intelligent things but make fun of her when she makes stupid revelations. Alia was heard saying:

"A person can look at me and not like my face, I can't really do anything about that. I've never experienced any kind of troll upfront. If there is any chatter, I hope it dies down and you move forward. At the end of the day, I am a human being, I am bound to say four stupid things in public, and people may make fun of that. But I may also say 14 intelligent things. But negativity travels faster than positivity. But I believe in the larger picture and focus on love and positivity.”

Alia Bhatt reveals why she never reacts to negative comments about her

Speaking along the same lines, the actress mentioned that she is not unaffected by the hatred and negative comments spewed on her. Alia even added that now she has become more private as she can't blame anyone for anything. Mentioning that complete lies were spoken about her in the public, Alia said:

“Nobody is unfazed by negative comments. You have moments of vulnerability. Maybe I have also become a more private person because of that, but I cannot fault anyone for it. I have never even in my life spoken back or said, ‘You can’t say this about me'. Sometimes lies, complete lies, have been spoken. I have never said anything back because I believe that is not the way I want to conduct myself. I will be openly vulnerable and openly kind.”
