It all started when Alia Bhatt expressed her love for Ranbir Kapoor years ago and the universe conspired to bring them together through their Cupid, Ayan Mukerji, who roped the couple for his film, Brahmastra. Then came the surprising moment at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand S Ahuja’s wedding reception as Ranbir and Alia walked hand-in-hand, leaving us all in happy tears. Since then, the fans have been eagerly waiting for the two to announce their wedding as in almost three years of their relationship, Alia and Ranbir had perfectly made their place in the Kapoor and Bhatt household respectively.
Alia Bhatt is one such celebrity, who is as real as it gets when it comes to her social media and there are no second thoughts about that. Even though her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor is well-guarded, she had not kept it as a secret. On February 2, 2021, Alia interacted with her fans in a fun ‘True or False’ session and answered questions about her love for food, animals and the number ‘8’. When Alia was asked if she loves number 8, she replied, “True. Love” making a hand-heart sign and blushing throughout the 5-second video. Once again by the end of 2020, the headlines had reported that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will tie the knot in 2021. Reportedly, earlier Ranbir and Alia had plans to get married in 2020 but due to COVID-19 and the demise of former’s father, Rishi Kapoor, they had decided to take the plunge in 2021. Amid the reports, Alia had clarified in an interview with Pinkvilla, “When will I marry? Why is everyone asking me when I’m going to get married? Soon after Alia Bhatt’s denial on her 2021 wedding with beau, Ranbir Kapoor, the 38-year-old star had confirmed that if not for the pandemic, they would have sealed the deal this year. In an interview with Rajeev Masand, when the journalist had recalled Ranbir saying that he wants to be married by 32 and have kids by 34 and asked him to comment on it, the Brahmastra star had retorted, “Well, I think it would have already been sealed if the pandemic had not hit our lives. I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life.”
When asked if he had taken any classes during the lockdown, Ranbir Kapoor had praised his overachiever ladylove, Alia Bhatt and had said, “My girlfriend Alia is a bit of an overachiever, and she probably took every class there is -- from guitar to screenwriting. I always feel like an underachiever next to her. But no, I didn’t take any classes. Initially we were dealing with the family crisis, and then I got into reading, spent time with my family, and I watch two-three films every day.” Ranbir had also said that he is hopeful that 2021 will be an exciting year both personally and professionally for him.
