Alia Bhatt is all over the news for his recent stint on the show, Koffee With Karan 8. The actress was joined by her sister-in-law, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and the duo spilt the beans on their respective personal and professional lives on the show. Meanwhile, Alia also opened up about the misconceptions that people have about her and raised many eyebrows.
During a rapid-fire segment of Koffee With Karan 8, the show's host, Karan Johar, asked Alia Bhatt about the biggest misconception that people have about her. Responding to the same, the actress replied that every now and then, she sees reports about her buccal fat surgery, skin whitening and marriage issues on the internet. However, she added that she isn't bothered about all this. In her words:
“It’s the age of the internet. Someday I have got buccal fat surgery, someday I’m whitening my skin, someday I’m having marriage issues. Misconceptions are misconceptions, so they don’t bother me.”

A video of the segment from the episode of Koffee With Karan 8 surfaced on Reddit, which has now gone viral on social media. Moreover, netizens have been sharing their opinions in the post's comment section, mocking Alia for her remarks. One user commented, “She is so much invested in social media it is very obvious.” Another one wrote, “Yet it sounds like it bothers her very much.” Meanwhile, a third netizen penned, “So many misconceptions yet it doesn’t bother her lol.”

Back in October 2023, during an interview, Alia Bhatt candidly mentioned that her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, always asks her to 'wipe off' her lipstick because he prefers her natural lip colour. This comment made Ranbir a target of severe online criticism, and he was labelled as a toxic partner by netizens. As Alia graced the show, when Karan Johar asked her about her take on her comments about Ranbir Kapoor becoming an explosion online, she mentioned that it happened because Ranbir is not active on social media. Adding that she has a very candid way of speaking, Alia said that a lot of things got picked out of context.
Back in October 2023, Alia Bhatt attended the HT summit, wherein she was asked about facing online trolling on a daily basis. Talking about the same, Alia said that when she receives criticism from her fans, she prefers to stay silent as she has grown into someone who has nothing to complain about. However, she added that she was affected by the trolls initially and was more defensive and said:
“I have lived my life in the public eye. So I have gone through different stages of scrutiny that maybe I have faced. Maybe initially I was a little more defensive. When you are younger, you are like, ‘Arre why are they saying this?' But later on, I was a bit more dismissive; 'Forget it, nobody cares'. But I think I have grown into a person who genuinely feels that I have nothing to complain about. And I don’t think that with the position and privilege that I have, it doesn't look like to say that ‘Oh I don’t like that people are saying maybe not so nice things about me'."

Speaking along the same lines, in the same interview, the actress mentioned that she is not unaffected by the hatred and negative comments spewed on her. Alia even added that now she has become more private as she can't blame anyone for anything. Mentioning that complete lies were spoken about her in the public, Alia said:
“Nobody is unfazed by negative comments. You have moments of vulnerability. Maybe I have also become a more private person because of that, but I cannot fault anyone for it. I have never even in my life spoken back or said, ‘You can’t say this about me'. Sometimes lies, complete lies, have been spoken. I have never said anything back because I believe that is not the way I want to conduct myself. I will be openly vulnerable and openly kind.”
