The New York Democrat was asked by TMZ DC managing editor Charlie Cotton about her dating habits. She reportedly has split from her ex-fiance, Riley Roberts. Alexandria opened up about whether she will ever date a conservative or if it was something she would entertain. Alexandria replied:
"Um, I'd have to say probably not."
The Squad member could not stop laughing at the question. She had a very straightforward reply to the same and explained the reason behind her hesitation. The 36-year-old shared that it was less about political labels and more about the values she looked for in a relationship.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's response towards her dating life has come at a very interesting junction in her life. It has been reported that she and Riley parted ways after a long relationship. It was in 2022 that both of them got engaged, and it was mentioned that in 2024 they ended their relationship.

AOC did not say that Republicans were unsuitable partners when she was asked about her dating preferences across the political aisle. She shared that people had different definitions of political identity and that a relationship would require deeper consideration. In her words:
"I think a lot of politics sometimes, at least for me, is about values and being aligned in values is tremendously important."
AOC does not care if someone votes Democrat or Republican. For her, the beliefs she holds are important because politics is closely connected to her public career and identity. She also revealed that there was no foul play towards people who wished to date someone across the political line.
Alexandria made the important distinction, as her answer was entirely framed by her personal preferences and not by a broader judgement about politically mixed pairs. The Representative also opened up about her hope of being a mother one day. She also revealed about her decision to freeze her eggs.
AOC believes that there is no right time to have kids. Earlier, in an interview with Newsweek, she was asked about whether she would have kids while serving in the office.

She did not give a specific timeline, but Ocasio spoke about the practical challenges that follow from starting a family. Ocasio believes that baby planning is a major life decision within a bigger picture, and that life extends beyond her political career. In her words:
"First of all, one thing that I hear from a lot of parents is that there's never a right time. Perfect time."
The Democratic congresswoman also shared that childcare costs are one of the factors that made it very tough for her to plan a child while she was working. She acknowledged that, despite her concerns, she considers herself fortunate. Given the cost of childcare, she wondered whether having a child would be possible.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stated that conversations about her political future may overlook the priorities and ambitions that shape one's personal life. She stated that making decisions in her own life is not just in a career context. It's about how she fits in all of these things.
