Akshay Kumar a.k.a the original khiladi of Bollywood is one of the most-loved actors in the film industry. Known for his thrilling action sequences and top-notch acting skills, Akshay has won the hearts of his fans effortlessly. However, in comparison to the rough characters which he plays on-screen, Akshay is a humble and shy person in his personal life. For the unversed, Akshay is married to his ladylove, Twinkle Khanna and the duo is blessed with a son, Aarav, and a daughter, Nitara.
In comparison to most actors and their siblings receiving a lot of limelight, Akshay Kumar’s sister, Alka Bhatia prefers to remain low-key and does not make much of a public appearance. However, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Akshay made sure to share his love for his sister out to the world, and dropped a rare picture with his sister. Taking to his IG handle on August 30, 2023, Akshay dropped a picture with Alka. The duo can be seen flashing their brightest smiles for the camera. Along with it, Akshay penned a sweet message, which can be read as:
“Je tu mere naal hai te zindagi vich sab changa. My sister, my pillar of strength since day one. Happy #RakshaBandhan”

During the promotion of his film, Raksha Bandhan in 2022, Akshay Kumar had revealed a fond anecdote about his sister, Alka Bhatia. The actor recalled his childhood, where he was taught by his parents to respect his sister like a devi. Sharing more about it, Akshay had mentioned:
“My bond with my sister has been that of love. My sister is not at all scared of me and she's a very cool-natured person who does not fight at all. There has never been any quarrel among us, even if my temper rises sometimes, she still remains calm. Since childhood, my parents have taught me that my sister is not just my sister but a Devi (deity). So, for me, she is a Devi."
In one of his earlier social media posts back in 2022, Akshay Kumar had mentioned that he willingly dedicates his film, Raksha Bandhan to his sister, Alka Bhatia. He shared that Alka and his bond is one of the purest ones he ever had, and added that he felt blessed to have a sister like her in his life.

In one of his earlier interactions with the IANS, Akshay Kumar had opened up on the kind of bonding he shared with his sister, Alka Bhatia. He mentioned that having a sister in one’s life is the best thing ever, and highlighted that in his case, he has always found his sister, Alka to be a better person than him.
