During the IPL 2024 auction, Akash Ambani was asked about Rohit by an MI fan, and his short reply brought joy to the entire fan club. During the event, an MI supporter shouted:

Reacting to the fan's request, Akash Ambani gave a cheeky reply. Akash delighted all the cricket fans and shared that Rohit Sharma will be doing batting this year. He was heard saying:
“Chinta mat karo, wo batting karega.”
Later, the official Twitter handle of Mumbai Indians also acknowledged the team's owner Akash Ambani's statement, and confirmed the news. As per a report in DNA, Mumbai Indians still have Rs. 10.5 crores remaining in their account for the IPL 2024. This year, the team has some big names, including Gerald Coetzee, Dilshan Madushanka, Mohammad Nabi, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Verma in the squad.
