Akanksha Chamola has become one of the most well-known faces in the television industry. She made her debut in the entertainment industry with Bhutu and was recently seen in Dil Dhokha Aur Desire. However, apart from her acting, it's her unfiltered personality and her relationship with her husband, Gaurav Khanna, that have often grabbed attention. And now, in a candid conversation with Hauterrfly, she has reflected on her journey in the industry, including the dark side of the contract culture.
In a candid conversation with Hauterrfly, Akanksha Chamola answered some of the most heated questions. However, amid that, her comment on the contract culture soon gained immense attention. During the interview, she was asked about her experience with the casting couch. For the unversed, in recent years, many actresses have come forward with their shocking stories of the casting couch and how it impacted their careers.

Responding to the question, Akanksha Chamola shared that while she has never had to face a 'casting couch' situation, she has encountered instances in which people have discussed 'compromises' during hiring. She shared that while the Television industry is comparatively very clean, if someone wants to leap to the next level, it can be extremely difficult. Reflecting on her own experience, she shared:
"There have always been talks of compromise. Extremely upfront. Television is very clean, but if you want to jump the line and be somewhere else, I don't know how to put this, but it's not a very great situation to be in if you don't have a godfather backing you up. Kai baar first meeting mei hi bol dete hain, 'Haan ma'am, baaki sab toh theek hai, hum audition nahi lete, humaara contract basis pe hai. Hum contract sign karainge, but that has a clause that you have to be close to this person.'"

In the same conversation, Akanksha Chamola revealed that such conversations in the industry are very common. She added that people have come to her with conditions that required her to perform some personal favours in return for the role. She was quoted as saying:
"Yeah, which is so straightforward. And I'm like, 'What is this?' They are like 'humein aise hi kaam kiya hai. We are going to have you sign a contract stating that you will be close to this person. You have to provide services to this person. And this relation, you are getting this kind of role, and you are being cast.' Very blunt and straightforward."

In recent times, Akanksha Chamola's marriage to Gaurav Khanna has also been a topic of intense conversation. Ever since the television star won Bigg Boss 19 and Celebrity MasterChef, the couple has been in the limelight, and recently, there has been buzz alleging that they might be having marital troubles. The speculations started to circulate after fans felt that Akanksha hadn't been as supportive of Gaurav throughout his journey on Bigg Boss, and further, when it seemed like the duo disagreed on whether they wanted to have children. She stated:

"I have been okay with everything because throughout my husband's journey in Bigg Boss, I have been misunderstood. People thought I was not being supportive because I was not giving him kids, and he wanted to be a father....Whether I want to be a mom or not, that is my choice; I don't want to justify it to anyone. Then there are assumptions that she doesn't want to lose her figure, and so what? I don't agree, but you don't need to know my reasons or justifications."
