After her confession, the couple was trolled immensely on social media. Now, in an interview, Akanksha reacted to the 'fake couple' remark.

In a recent interview with Zoom, Akanksha Chamola broke her silence over the 'fake couple' remark. Soon after, she confessed she had called it quits with her husband, Gaurav Khanna; people slammed them and called them fake. They also claimed that the chemistry between Akanksha and Gaurav in the Bigg Boss 19 Family Week gave off fake-couple vibes.
Reacting strongly to the remark, Akanksha revealed that Gaurav’s family was first approached by the Bigg Boss team. But as they couldn’t come, they approached her. Akanksha added that she gave only 6 hours to the Bigg Boss shoot. She clarified that at the time, they were not divorced but were living separately. She was quoted as saying:
"I want to clarify that Gaurav Khanna's family was first approached by the Bigg Boss team. They couldn't come. Hence, I was asked to enter the house to meet him during family week. At that time, I was bound by work. I clearly refused their offer, but eventually, they asked me again, and I told them, 'I won't stay there for a night. I can give you only 6 hours. I was there only for 6 hours as Gaurav's support system. At that time, we were not divorced. We were living separately."
Akanksha shared that both she and Gaurav never wanted to establish themselves as a fake couple. She explained that at the time of Gaurav’s show, Celebrity MasterChef, they were figuring things out. She mentioned that Bigg Boss makers demanded her to be on the finale since her family special episode received a solid response from the audience. She said, "There was nothing fake."

In the same interview, Akanksha Chamola defended herself and her estranged husband, Gaurav Khanna and said that they were not wrong. She admitted that they took time to figure out where their marriage was going. Akanksha revealed that she thought Lock Upp 2 would be the best platform to let the world know about their relationship status. She was quoted as saying:
"We were not wrong. We took time to figure out where our marriage is going. I think every couple should do it. Never take an impulsive decision. I have just been with him as a support system. When I got Lock Upp, I thought it was the best platform to let the world know the reality of our relationship."
Further, in the interview, Akanksha confessed that her sexuality and divorce announcement were not shocking things for her parents. She admitted that she is outspoken. While she got eliminated from the show, Lock Upp 2, her parents wanted her to win the show. Akanksha said:
"Akanksha aisi hi hai. I don't care about anything. Mummy and Papa were like, 'Why did I quit?' They wanted me to come out as a winner. I am very blessed to have them as my parents. They never let me face any hardships. Sexuality and divorce news were not shocking for them."
