Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is hailed as the Cannes queen. The biggest film festival in the world never gets complete without Aishwarya's grand appearances. Over the years, Aishwarya has always left a jaw-dropping mark on the international red carpet. And every year, fans from across the world, hold their heart to see the queen's walk-in pretty designer ensembles on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.
Aishwarya's journey with Cannes Film Festival started twenty years ago when she walked for the first time with her Devdas, co-star, Shah Rukh Khan. Later, she made headlines when she walked the red carpet with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan in 2007. Let's take a look at Aishwarya's first red carpet walk at Cannes Film Festival.
It was in 2002 when Aishwarya first walked the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival. For her appearance at the International platform, she had ditched a dress and opted for a yellow-hued saree from the designer, Neeta Lulla. She accessorised her look with a gold neckpiece and matching jhumkis. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan was decked up in a black suit with a bow tie. The director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali also joined them in a black sherwani.
Not many know that Aishwarya had arrived on a blue chariot. In a media interaction, Aishwarya had recalled her grand entry. She had shared that they had arrived on a chariot. It was the first time when an Indian film (Devdas) was premiered at the Internationation film festival. After the premiere was over, they got a standing ovation for ten minutes.
During another appearance, Aishwarya kept her look minimal and opted for a sky blue-coloured suit with resham work on it. She had ditched the heavy accessories for her day look. Her look was completed with subtle makeup and winged eyeliner.
