But for those wondering where the two of them get hold of their everyday inspiration for creating something unique, their Goa abode is the befitting muse for them.
Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla opened the doors of their Goa home for their viewers in a tell-all interview with Asian Paints. The designer duo revealed that their home has a vibrant colonial legacy attached to it, since it was originally an unrepaired Portuguese home which they thereafter re-furbished to suit their tastes. The entrance of the house features a red-roofed portico, followed by a fleet of stairs inside the home. There is also a small coffee-table set up right on the porch, which is quite a reference to Portuguese tastes. Moreover, the stilt-attached roof shades add that old-world Portuguese charm till date.

The main agenda behind the designer duo having their house in Goa in the first place was to stay away from the busy honking lifestyle of the metropolitan city of Mumbai. Abu and Sandeep’s look for a vast serene environment came to an end with their house, which has a perfect balance of structural modernity along with the rustic view of nature. Moreover, to exhilarate the vibe of peace, the home features high ceilings and white walls that add an ounce of calm.
One of the most common aspects all throughout Abu and Sandeep’s home has been a vibe of indulgence. For instance, both their hall and living area features exuberant, vintage water-lily-style lighting on the walls, made out of brass plate metal. Their living room also has a fair share of vintage décor items such as artefacts, paintings and a handsome carpet. However, the show stealer has been the dining room, where the duo has dedicated an entire wall to be adorned with memorable photographs amped with opulent mood lighting.
Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have a fond love for nature, and especially flowers. So, their home has a space dedicated to the same, and it is none other than the lawns and gardens surrounding their home. The windows of the home are adorned with lush plants, that provide much-needed serenity to the space. Moreover, they also love to add an element of nature inside their home as well, such as fresh flower vases decorating their large dining table.
One of the other essential aspects in the designers lives has been their love and fondness for art. Both Abu and Sandeep are art enthusiasts and have included a lot of paintings that are primarily hand painted. These not only enhance the look of the house, but also add a sense of inspiration for the artists in them. One of the priceless paintings that the duo has put up in their home is a spiritual one made by a commissioned artist. It is dedicated to Lord Shrinathji temple in Maharashtra. And to blend in well with the grand paintings, the duo has opted for soft-toned upholstery and natural wood furniture that gives a pleasing aura to the space.

Another interesting highlight of Abu and Sandeep’s home is their unique 15-seater glass-top dining table. While the chairs are made of high teakwood, the table is a product of conscious environmental recycling and features custom-embedded laser discs in it, which are no longer in use. Moreover, these discs actually consist of some old film recordings that are favourites of the two of them. The use of laser discs is a masterpiece of their creative imagination, that surely adds a touch of quirkiness.
For all the movie buffs out there, the movie room in Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s Goa home is a heavenly abode for all of you. The designer duo has a designated space for recreation in terms of watching their favourite movies. The room features a small four-post bed and a few other small seating options. However, what steals the show is the grand ceiling-high shelf filled with DVD’s of movies along with a large LED screen.
