In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Abhishek Bachchan was promoting the upcoming season 2 of the popular web series, Breathe, with which he’s making his OTT debut. When asked what it feels like to be the son of Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan and was it tough for him, the actor took some time before answering it and explained, “I’ve never thought about it. I’m the son of my father. At home, he’s that, he has never wanted it to be anything else, my mother never allowed it to be anything else. I’m the son of my father, I’m a colleague of a legend. Going further, junior Bachchan has also revealed that the equation that he shares with his father at home is the reason why he respects and loves him to the core of his heart. Abhishek said, “He never brings his work home, never imposes, what I believe as a fan rightly should be, the fact he’s a living legend of cinema. At home, he’s my friend, somebody I can sit with, watch sports or movies, discuss politics and current affairs. I think it’s very important to understand that dynamic, which I understand is very difficult to comprehend when you’re not living that and viewing it as a third person.”
In the end, Abhishek Bachchan has also highlighted the point that he’s grateful and feels blessed to be the son of such great parents and actors. He said, “I’ve never looked upon it adversely. My love and respect for my parents are far too big for me to ever think to disrespect that emotion by thinking about it adversely.” For the uninitiated, Amitabh Bachchan had tied the knot with Jaya Bhaduri on June 3, 1973, and a year after, the duo became parents to an adorable baby girl, whom they had named Shweta Bachchan. On February 5, 1976, the family of three became four when Abhishek Bachchan had entered into their world.
We have seen a lot of times in Amitabh Bachchan’s interviews and social media posts that he shares a warm and friendly bond with his son. In an interview with The Indian Express, Amitabh ji had talked about his relationship with his son, Abhishek and had said that they are like friends. He had decided that the moment Abhishek starts borrowing his shoes, he would become his friend.
