Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most popular and talented actors in the entertainment industry. He has marked his name in the hearts of millions, courtesy of his exceptional acting skills and pleasant personality. Having being there in the industry for over a decade, SRK has made some genuine friends like Karan Johar and Farah Khan. But, in the course of his career, there have been a few instances when he drifted apart from his close friends. One of them is the popular singer, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who has given his voice to several songs of Shah Rukh Khan's films. Moreover, there was a time when the singer even took a dig at the actor and called him a 'commercial person'.
Earlier, in a conversation with Lehren Retro, Abhijeet Bhattacharya opened up about his equation with Shah Rukh Khan. Talking about the same, the singer highlighted his association with the actor. Refraining from talking about his controversial remarks against SRK, Abhijeet reflected on how the actor is a self-made star. Mentioning how they both have a similar nature, Abhijeet said:
"Jo ho gaya, so ho gaya. Dekhiye, ek hota hai ego aur ek hota hai self-esteem. Shah Rukh Khan apne dam se bana hai. Usk andar jo self-respect hai, jo swabhiman hai, woh same mere mein bhi hai Woh bhi Scorpio hai. Humara date ek din age piche hai, nature same hai humara. Toh humko ghamand nahi hai, lekin humko swabhiman hai."

Further, in the same interview, Abhijeet took a dig at Shah Rukh Khan and reflected on their sour relationship. Talking about the same, the singer mentioned that he tried to mend his relationship with SRK, but he is a very 'commercial person.' Mentioning that the actor can remove anyone from his way when it comes to his career, Abhijeet said:
"Although we had personal differences between us, I tried to solve it a couple of times, but he is a very commercial person. He will use you, he will remove anyone from his path of success and flourishing career."
Further, in the same conversation, Abhijeet reacted to Shah Rukh being called an anti-nationalist by many. Talking about the same, the singer mentioned that the actor is the only 'nationalist' among all the Khans. Abhijeet added that Shah Rukh had made movies that promoted the Hindu culture. Elaborating more about it, he said:
"It is very wrong for anyone to call him an anti-nationalist. There is no greater nationalist than Shah Rukh Khan. Take a look at the movies that he has made, Phir Bhi Dil Hia Hindustani, Swades, Asoka. How can anyone say something like this about him? And that too when he has promoted Hindu culture the most in his movies. He is the biggest nationalist. It was because of some people who took our commercial differences to a different angle altogether and started calling him names. Among the khans, Shah Rukh Khan is the only nationalist."

Earlier, during the India Today Safaigiri Summit and Awards in 2018, Abhijeet opened up about Shah Rukh. Talking about him, the singer mentioned that he made the actor a 'superstar'. Taking a dig at SRK's film, Chennai Express' song, Lungi Dance, Abhijeet said:
"I made superstars with my voice. Till the time I sang for Shah Rukh Khan, he was a rock star. When I stopped singing for him - and I stopped singing for him - he came down to Lungi Dance."
