“We grew up together, you and I, figuring it out as we went along” – Shweta Bachchan Nanda shared a heartwarming wish for her daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda as she turned 21 on December 6, 2018. Not only Shweta but Navya’s doting mama, Abhishek Bachchan also wrote a super-adorable birthday wish for ‘the coolest kid in the world’. It was raining warm birthday wishes and lots of love for Navya as she stepped foot into another chapter of her life. Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Nikhil Nanda’s daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda’s 21st birthday bash seemed nothing but perfect, surrounded with close friends and family. Shloka Birla, daughter of industrialist Yashovardhan Birla (Chairman of the of the Yash Birla group), gave a sneak peek to Navya’s birthday party held in Mumbai on December 6, 2018. In one of the pictures shared by Shloka, we can see Navya’s other two close friends, Khushi Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor, and Shloka captioned it as, "We love you, Navs. Always and forever."
Meanwhile, Navya Naveli's fans clubs shared a video from inside the birthday party, wherein Navya can be seen blowing candles of her birthday cake alongside her parents Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Nikhil Nanda. Navya's mami, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her little cousin, Aaradhya Bachchan were by the birthday girl’s side. Meanwhile, Shweta Nanda shared an adorable picture of six-month-old baby Navya, but it was her birthday wish which won our hearts. We grew up together, you and I, figuring it out as we went along ... here we are at 21 a far cry from this 6-month-old, that I really didn’t know what to make of! Recalling an incident when people abroad mistook her daughter and her as sisters, Shweta shared, “When we travel abroad together, people mistake my daughter and me for sisters — I love telling them my age, my daughter is cringing, jabbing me in the ribs and asking me to ‘calm down’.”
In an interview with Vogue, the proud daughter Navya talked about her mother and shared, “I’m actually really proud of my mum, the fact that after so many years she’s going out there to make a life for herself.” And Shweta revealed that one advice she gave to her daughter about joining the industry. Shweta had stated, "I really try to tell Navya about all the cons [of being a part of the film industry]. I have nothing against the industry, it's who we are. But, it's not an easy world to be in."
