Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleKannada industry’s superstar, Yash, is all set to rock the screen with his upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, and his fans are eager to watch him in a never-before-seen avatar. Yash has proved his versatility with films like Googly, Gajakesari, Mr and Mrs Ramachari, and KGF. His upcoming release, Toxic, has already garnered a lot of attention for its content, which includes many bold scenes.
And Yash is in the middle of the limelight for his intimate moments with his co-stars in the film. Amid the backlash, fans have dug up an old interview with the actor in which he vowed never to indulge in a scene that would make his parents uncomfortable.
In 2014, on Ramesh Aravind’s talk show, Weekend With Ramesh, Yash spoke about his on-screen romantic scenes. The actor also elaborated that he would never do a scene that would make his parents uncomfortable. Yash also said he would often get nervous during intimate scenes on set, and that people, including his wife, Radhika, would laugh at him.
In the same chat, Yash also pointed out the scenes he avoids and explained the principle he has always tried to follow as an actor. In his words:
“If I'm not comfortable watching a particular scene with my parents sitting beside me, I won't do it. Mostly because I feel it would make many viewers uncomfortable as well.”
During one of the segments of the show, Yash recalled an incident in which he panicked because he was supposed to pull the actress’s saree. Even though the actress encouraged him, he wasn’t comfortable doing so. Speaking of the same, he said:
“In the very first shot of my television show, I was asked to pull the lead actress's saree. I panicked. The actresses would encourage me, saying, 'It's okay, it's just a scene,' but I would tell them, 'Please let me be.' Even my mother used to get disappointed and say, 'You don't know how to do romantic scenes.'"
Ever since the promo for Toxic was released, the film has received heavy criticism from the public, and many have even called it ‘vulgar’. Many online comments about the film's content sparked heated debates. During his appearance on Aap Ki Adaalat, when Yash was asked about the criticism directed at the movie, he said that there is a fine line between intimacy and vulgarity, and the film is shot keeping that in mind.
Yash also pointed out that he hasn’t even kissed in the film. But the film is shot so aesthetically that it seems visually appealing, and that’s the impact of cinema. For Yash, the scenes were not about crossing a line for its own sake, but were required by the story. Revealing how his wife won’t be happy about the scenes, Yash said:
“I've also stepped out of my comfort zone. It's not easy for me to do these things, but the story demands it, and it's a crucial part of it. Of course, she (Radhika) won't be happy about it, but that doesn't mean she's upset or anything, because she trusts me. The important thing is, she's also an actor. She understands it's a job, and when I'm performing, it's an actor doing their part. It's not her husband.”
