Savannah Guthrie's kidnapping has been a major topic of discussion in recent times. It was on January 31, 2026, when, after the family dinner, Savannah's mom went missing. The family had no idea about the same until 11 am the next day, following which a missing report was filed. The investigation has been ongoing and nothing as of now could be known about Nancy Guthrie, who has been said to be kidnapped or abducted.

Authorities said that she might have been taken against her will when she was asleep in her room. Annie Guthrie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, grabbed the spotlight in recent times, with journalist Ashleigh Banfield claiming that the latter may be a person of interest in the case. Two investigations already took place at Annie and Tomasso's home, which is at a 10-minute distance from Nancy's home. So, is Tommaso the 'prime suspect'? The Pima County Sheriff recently replied to such questions in Annie Guthrie's missing case.

Is Tommaso Cioni a 'prime suspect' in Nancy Guthrie's abduction?

If a report by the Hindustan Times is to be believed, the Pima County Sheriff, during a press conference shared on Monday if Tomasso Cioni is the 'prime suspect'. On being asked whether Tommaso is of any suspicion or if he was the person of interest in Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping, the Prime County Sheriff reportedly said that no one has been ruled out yet.

It so happened that journalist Ashleigh Banfield stated that it can very much be possible that Tommaso is a person of interest, because he was the one to see Nancy later, but it was also stated that the family members of the missing victims often get investigated, and that is generally due to several queries. To mention, an investigation in Annie Guthrie and Tommaso's home happened, and while the first investigation was said to have been conducted to collect evidence, the second investigation was reportedly linked to Nancy's abduction.

'New leads' are there in Nancy Guthrie's missing case

On the other hand, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced via social media that, as it was witnessed that investigations were going on in the Guthries' residences, this will be continued for February 10 and February 11 as well. The expansion of the new search has been going on. As per the post, new leads came, which expanded the search for Nancy Guthrie. To mention no details about the new leads were released to preserve the integrity of this criminal investigation. The post from the authorities could be read as:

"Many of you observed an active presence at the Guthrie residences over the weekend. That activity will continue tonight and into tomorrow as part of the ongoing investigative process, including the expansion of the search and follow-up on new leads. This is all part of the investigative process, as the search for Nancy expands and new leads come in."

Savannah Guthrie, earlier in a video, revealed that her mom, who is 84 years old, has a fragile heart, which requires her to be on constant medication, which isn't happening, raising concerns about her health amid being kidnapped. The family also got their hands on two ransom notes, asking for USD 6 million in Bitcoin, which they agreed to pay, but only after the reassurance of Nancy being safe and sound with the sender.
